Good morning and happy New Year to one and all!

Poor Gary had to be at the office at 5:00 a.m. to drug test his clients.  Big temptations with New Year's eve and all. Needless to say when he got up I woke up. Tried my best to go back to sleep but had/have some stupid Coldplay song in my head. So far this morning I have: had two lattes, paid the bills, emptied the dish washer, did two loads of laundry, stripped the bed, cleaned both bathrooms (top to bottom) and now I'm eating my breakfast while the color on my hair processes. Whewwwwww  what a way to start 2009???  Maybe it's a sign of how the rest of my year will go....full of energy and accomplishments?

Speaking of signs of the new year, what are your hopes and goals for 2009?  Notice I did not say resolutions, because I have never met a soul who sets a New Year resoloution that actually follows through with it. Then, all you do is get down on yourself for not accomplishing something, and whatever it is you wanted to do usually gets much worse. The old catch-22 thing.

Of course, my greatest hope for 2009 is that my family and friends are happy and healthy. I can't be happy if they(including my friends here) aren't

Then, I want to work on being a more positive individual. I tend to be "the glass is half empty" kind of person, eventhough you folks might not see that side of me....fooled ya, huh? Anyway, around the house and at work I have a problem seeing all of the positive things in my life. I don't have a thing to complain about, mind you, I can FIND lots to complain about though.  So....starting today I'm going to try to find one single positive thing a day. Then maybe I'll work up to two.

Let's hear what all of you are hoping for in this New Year.

Susan

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually SLEPT last night!  I didn't go to bed EARLY.  I was awake to ring in the new year.  But I left very well until about 6:30 when I woke up ready to go!!!

So I have also got online and paid my bills for the month and my checkbook balance does NOT have a minus in front of it (which is always nice)! LOL

I even played a few morning mind-waker-upper games (word games, etc that I play a round of every single morning unless something goes wrong).

So I'm rip-roaring-ready-to-start this new year!

I've got to go get my daughter in a few.  She spent the night with a couple of cheer sisters to go to their church new year's party.  But they have to go to a funeral today, so I've got to pick her up by 10.  I also have to drop by and pick up a new countertop hair dryer that I'm getting for my daughter from freecycle.  (I love free stuff.)  So my morning is full.

I already cut up a bunch of carrots, potatos, onions and fresh mushrooms and put them on top of a giant pot roast I cut in half and put in the crock pot.  (It's sitting in some beef broth with beef gravy poured on top on high.)  I'm obviously cooking for my dad today!  LOL (I don't eat pot roast, etc usually.)

In any event, I feel much better physically today.  I'm not coughing up as much stuff as I have been over the last few days.  In fact, so far this morning, my cough has yet to peek out of hiding which is a good thing.  So that's a good beginning to the new year!

I'm thinking about all of you today and wish you all a HEALTHIER, HAPPIER new year than the one you've previously had (no matter how good/bad it's already been I hope it gets better for y'all all)!

(I miss you all so much!  It feels like we haven't had a meeting in forever.)

Much love...

HAPPY NEW YEAR ONE AND ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a good New Years.  Every year except one that Mike and I have been together, we go to his friends house and gather around a huge bonfire, cook and eat.  Well, this year, I was a good girl and stayed inside away from the cold and smoke, while the guys grilled steaks and porkchops.
I only ate meat, although there were other things there, Im battling a cold, as everyone else in the world, so I had to force myself to eat, so I tried to get in my protien.

My goals for 2009 are as follows:
Be healthier than 08
Live every day as if it were my last
Love like I never have before
Be a better wife, daughter and aunt and role model to all young folks watching me
Take my vitamins
Eat properly
Not berate myself when I slip up but realize that I can start over.
Be the best friend to all my friends and to be a better support to my OH buddies!!!

Hugs and much love, Im off to play w/new puppies!!

Love,
Rhonda and Mike
