Hello Everyone, Question about drain

Its been awhile since i've been online. Just wanted to check in and say thank you for all the christmas cards and get well wishes. I feel bad I was never able to mail out my cards, just never had time to get them mailed. Tons of family in, trying to move and kids home all day i feel like i'm going insane. lol. Anyways, I have a question for those who have had a drain. I had surgery on Dec 10th and my drain comes out Jan 9th. Up until 2 days ago I would open the drain one time at night and it would flow for about a minute and it would be clear or slightly colored, well 2 days ago, nothing and today very little drained out and it was an orangy yellow color. Is something wrong or is this normal. Doesn't smell bad or hurt or anything, just not draining like it was. I'm trying my best to get all my fluids in more so than eating, but as much as I try its not happening. I'm getting about 20-30 fluid oz in on a good day. Seems like all I want to do is sleep, sleep, sleep. any suggestions or advice?

Yup, your drain sounds perfectly normal.  I hated that darn thing.  It was such a relief to see it go!  It is so hard to get fluids in at first, but it does get easier.  In the meantime, try to eat a few more popsicles per day or whatever you can.  Maybe even do room temp/warm fluids?  Those seem to go down easier than the cold stuff.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease about the drain. I was hoping nothing was wrong since it quit draining. I'm planning on getting myself on a better schedule starting tomorrow as far as my fluids and foods. You guys are the best .
