Thank you so much for the support.  I am looking forward to hearing from Steve,  Apparentl we fellas need to group up on here.  I am used to it - it seemed like every weigh****cher meeting/other diet center I have ever gone to was 99% women.  Cest la Vie.

Hi Charlie
Congrats on the January 2 date and welcome to the group.   You have a great surgeon in Dr Baker and a great group of supporters here.   These ladies have been very tolerant of my male intrusion here and very supportive as well so I know you will be treated well here.  Great to have another male on board too.   Hope all goes great with your preparation and surgury.  Please ask about anything that concerns you as you go forward.   Lot's of caring folks here just waiting to help out.  I know you will do well.

I actually lost 53 pounds in the two months pre-surgery on a totally liquid diet, so i got a big jump start.  I knew I could lose that way since I had before, but knew I wouldn't keep it off without the surgery.   The weight really fell of for a while.  Much slower now, but still going the right direction.   Exercise has been mostly just walking.  It's been a bit less than it should with the colder weather - I really like to get outdoors and do things, but hate to just exercise in the gym.   Gotta work on that for the winter.

Hi Susan
Everything is OK here.  Had a little bout with the crud, but over it now.   Haven't posted much lately - need to do better.  Been a little low lately with the whole work thing (still don't have anything firm) so I haven't been a very good encourager and don't want to be a downer.  It will be much better once I know the facts, whatever they turn out to be.   Just this limbo thing that is driving me nuts.  I am really ready to get on with life and just have to wait a bit longer to see what that will be.  I am not a very good "waiter" - so I guess that rules out the food business, huh?

Hi Charlie!

Welcome to the boards!  I just wanted to stop in and encourage you.  This journey is a crazy one and OH'ers are among the most helpful to be sure.  It's such a wonderful, safe place to answer questions etc.

I pray your surgery is boring and uneventful!
Blessings~

This forum truly is awesome and everyone is so kind and supportive.  I had surgery 17 days ago and I'm still riding the emotional rollercoaster....but it's better everday.  Here is some terrible advice that everyone will probably get onto me for saying...

EAT ALL THE PIZZA YOU CAN BEFORE JANUARY 2ND!!! (hee, hee)

The cravings remain but the digestive system says no way!  It'll all be worth the sacrifice though...

Take care and don't be nervous.  You're on your way to feeling wonderful!  Lisa

OK, that is some really awful advice.  Dr. Baker has me on these liquid shakes, which I have been managing with some success, but not perfect.  did Dr. Gibbs have yu do the same thing??  The shakes are like getting a divorce from food somewhat.  It has to be done though.  Good luck to you too!!

Yeah...sorry about that!  I'm such a dipstick that after I posted my response I remembered that you were on the liquid diet pre-op.  Somehow I managed to escape that part of the program, but I know that Dr. Gibbs does have some of his patients do it.

Hang in there!  Everything is going to be great!
