I'm so glad I found you pre-op!!!!!!
So glad I found this forum! Thanks Susan for pointing me in the right direction!
I am due to have RYGB with Dr Baker on January 2, and have been wondering about a good local support system. I am married, and my wife is very supportive. That said, I really need some folks who have been thru this physical and emotional ride to rely on also. I was sincerely hoping there was something like this out there. I have been reading all of your past posts and there is a bunch of good information. Thank you all so much! I'm sure you will be hearing from me, like it or not
Any initial thought are appreciated, I'm getting a little nervous about the surgery. Hoping the holidays will keep me busy - CP
Everyone gets nervous. It's typical cold feet mentality. Even though you may have worked towards something for months or even years, when it is finally is close to becoming an actual reality - it becomes more real and definately more scary.
By the time most of us have WLS, we are morbidly obese and the adverse effects of THAT are scarier than WLS.

Charlie,
Congrats on your sugery!! You are in great hands w/Dr. Baker. Those of us who used him think he walks on water, as a matter of fact, Im sure he does!!!
We are here for you before and after, its overwhelming and scary, but so is the thought of dying from High Blood Pressure or heart attack or having all joints replaced due to being obese.
Welcome to the board, we are so glad to have another man on board, I know Steve will welcome your presence, lol.
Keep us posted on your progress and welcome to the chatter circle.
Hugs,
Rhonda D.
