Big Thanks!

So I just wanted to tell everyone at the meeting last night a big "THANK YOU!!  "  Everyone was so sweet, helpful, and encouraging.  It was wonderful for me to finally talk with people who actually understand the struggle.  No one else typically around me does.  I'm just beginning to get deep into the process and I'll really get started with all of the pre-op papers and whatnot after the first of the year.

Anyhow I just wanted to tell everyone thank you.

P.S. I was the 20 yr-old college student there with my mom.  Somehow that doesn't seem that descriptive to me but maybe those I met will remember.

Of course your discription tells me just who you are!  It was delightful talking to you and your mom.  Congratulations for taking the steps to a healthier, happier you.  I'm so envious of you doing this at such an early age, now giving yourself a longer life filled with good health (and cute clothes  LOL).

Keep us posted on your progress.  We're here for you!

Susan

I was very nervous at that meeting also. I am 19 and also a college student. I am very sad that I didnt get to meet you. I saw you, but I was just so nervous and I was sticking right next to my dad. He is the one who was on the calender and has lost over 100 pounds. I am also just getting strted with all the paperwork thats required for surgery. I am going to be at the seminar on the 6th of January. Maybe I will see you there. Iam very excited. I fully agree with you. People who are not overweight at the college I go to, just dont underatand as much as they did at the meeting what we go through. I just also wanted to say thank you to everyone that was at the meeting.  You all are awesome and i look forward to one day sharing my story with you.....

I wish I had had the chance to meet you.  I don't remember if I saw you or not.  I was embarrassed for walking in late and all.  I am going to the seminar on tuesday and I'm super excited.  It's so nice to talk with people that actually get it and it's also really nice to not be the only "youngster" doing it.  I just hope everything works out so that I can go through with having the surgery.  I really want it.  I'm so glad though that this is here to connect with people.  It's been so hard to be in college and not talk about it.  The only reason I don't is because people our age (and any age for that matter) can be really cruel and I don't want the negativity and doubt in my head.  I hope I can meet you sometime.  Who's your surgeon?  And where do you go to college?  I'm a curious person.

Keep me updated on how the process is going for you.

I wish I'd met you!  You could have been embarassed or bashful and I wouldn't have cared!  I'd have talked enough for the both of us! LOL

I enjoyed meeting you too!  I try to make it to every single support group so I'm sure we'll all see each other again!  (And I run my mouth all the time on here too!)

Hazel nut, My surgeon is Dr. Baker. I am thinking, that we are going to different seminars That makes me sad... I am sure we will see eachother again sometime though.  We have the same surgeon, so maybe we will be able to be at the Dr's office the same day or something.... I bet your excited. I am very excited to be going to the seminar in January.  I go to college in Harrison Arkansas which is about 100 miles from little rock, but only 15 minutes from where i live.. so it works great....

Wendy:) I am thinking that maybe my dad talked to you... He was the guy that was on the calendar.... he had the Fobi pouch and lost over 100 pounds.  I am hoping we can all meet eachother at another meeting again... Do you go quite regulalrly?
