I know we have more than one Wendy, but I got your address yesterday for the christmas card exchange and saw that you are from Jessieville. My daughter has a cheer competition in Jessieville this Sunday. I'm not familiar with the area at all. Can you tell me about how far from Little Rock/Sherwood you are? Not sure if our competition is at the High School or if you guys have some sort of arena for stuff like this. Also, is there a Walmart close by? I know silly question, but someone from our squad always seems to forget something and we always need to find a walmart. Anywho, just thought I would ask, mapquest isn't always accurate in good directions for me, lol.

Thanks
Michelle

HI!

Jessieville is exactly 66 miles from the State Capital complex.  It takes about 1.25 hours to drive from Jessieville to the State Capital complex.  (So about 1.5 should get you from Sherwood to Jessieville on a Sunday.)

Jessieville School (the high school, middle school, everything) is all together on Highway 7.

We DO have a Wal-Mart at what we call the foot of the mountain (about 10 minutes from the school).  You will pass it on your way to the school.  It is a smaller Wal-Mart, but you can't miss it as it is also on Highway 7.

Jessieville is easy to find.  You won't even need to mapquest it.

Take i-30 south towards Texarkana.  Take the Highway 5 exit.  Follow Highway 5 to the junction of Highways 5 & 7.  Turn right on Highway 7.  (You will follow that highway all the way to Jessieville.)

The Wal-Mart will be at the first stop-light you come to (on the right behind the Murphy Oil gas station).

You'll keep going on highway 7 through the road construction, passing through another stop light at the front gate of Hot Springs Village.  You'll pass a KFC/Taco Bell and a Sonic on your right.  You'll keep going past the Boys & Girls Club on your right.  You'll keep going past a Charlie's Pizza on your right.  You'll pass by Coleman's Rock Shop on your left.  You'll pass by the junction of Highway 298 on your left.  (You are very close now.)  You'll go around a curve or two and go over a narrow bridge.  Then you'll pass by a church on the right.  (You are about to have to turn right.)  You'll come over a little slope and see the school on the right.  There is a road that goes right JUST BEFORE the school called "Beaudry Circle" if memory serves.  You want to take that road.  (If you miss it, just turn into the first school driveway on the right and cut across there to the road.)  Immediately after turning onto Beaudry Circle, there is a Y in the road.  The left part of the Y leads up behind the school.  The right part of the Y leads to the middle of nowhere (read: turn around... I hear banjos.)  So obviously, you want to take the left at the Y in the road.  So to recap, take a right on Beaudry Circle right before the school and then an immediate left to go behind the school.

Follow that road that you just turned left onto (off Beaudry Circle) all the way to the end.  You will be at the Sports Arena.

I hope that didn't confuse you MORE!!!!  Hope to see you there!!!

Thank you so much!!! Do you have a daughter in cheer too? Maybe we can meet up at the concession area or something. How fun would that be. Thanks again

My daughter is in the squad hosting the event, so I'm one of the parents that will be running the event.  So I will DEFINATELY be there... most of the day and night in fact.
