BLACK Friday...

Well... every year there is a horror story about Black Friday somewhere.  This year, a Wal-Mart employee was trampled to death at a Long Island Wal-Mart when shoppers physically broke the door down.  (I guess it was one that closed last night.)  Things were less eventful at our local Wal-Marts thank goodness.  (I took my daughter this year for the first time.  She loved it.  I figure I'll have to take her every year now.  LOL)  We left at 3:30 this morning and we got back about an hour ago (11:30ish).  I think I may nap now.  LOL

I went to all 3 Wal-Marts (looking for something they were all out-of-stock, so I had to order it online a second ago).  So I started at Wal-Mart # 1 where I picked up 2 GPS systems for my dad and 2 19" LCD TVs for us.  Then we went on to Belks where I was one of the 1st 250 customers, so I got a gift card that ended up being worth $10.  WOO HOO!!! So, I ended up getting the silverwear set I wanted for about $8.  WOO HOO!  Then we went to Goodys where my daughter got a purse and some house booties for about $23.  WOO HOO!  Then we went to Shoe Carnival where I was one of the 1st 100 customers, so I got a $10 gift card.  WOO HOO!!! So, my daughter got a blue Nike duffel bag she had been wanting for $4.32!  WOO HOO!  Then we went to JCPenney where I took my receipt from when my daughter and I went shopping last week and made them refund all purchases down to the blitz prices.  So they debited my card for about $52 in savings.  WOO HOO!  While I was there, I went & picked up a red cashmere coat for $50 plus tax.  So I kind of came out even there.  That's what I'm telling myself anyway.  LOL  (I know I just got a new black coat from Dillards, but I wanted a red one really bad.  And the coat is OMG to DIE for - I'm SERIOUS.)  So THEN, we went by the shoe store in the mall & got my daughter some gold shoes to wear with her gold dress she got last week to wear to her band concert and school dance.  Then we went to Wal-Mart # 2 where I picked up some DVDs, XBox 360 games & DS games - where I had ads for Wal-Mart to price match.  Then on our way home, we stopped at Wal-Mart # 3 where I tried to pick up my last item that they ALSO didn't have.  SOOOO I came home and ordered it online to PICK-up at a local store.  So... I have not FINISHED doing my holiday shopping... but I have DEFINATELY started with vigor!

How about y'all???

OMG....I'm worn out just from reading your day!!!  Way to go, you shopper, you   At 11:30 I was starting my second client of the day. Yes, I'm pathetic....worked today and will work tomorrow. How very sad is that?
I did do some online shopping last night and today. I wanted to get DS and DIL a nintendo DS and was planning on buying it online at Wal-mart, but at 5:30 this a.m., they said it was not available. Too bad for them, bought it from Amazon.com w/ free shipping.  HA!

Yesterday wasn't bad food wise. The kids didn't get here until 6:30, so dinner wasn't until almost 7:00.

Latte

breakfast burrito, 1/2 grapefruit

latte

roast beef sand on double fiber bread

1/2 PB&J

turkey, dressing, broccoli casserole, sweet potato ( about 2 tbs ea)

PB and apple "treat".  Don't know what to call it. Vegetarian DIL made it for desert and even though it was vegan, it was pretty good. I used a high calorie granola bar to calculate it for my total.

The only shopping we did today was run to Yeagers Hardware to pick up some corner bead for the living room walls, lol.  We did pick up an accessory kit for the drimmel that will be $5 after mail-in rebate (got it on sale for $15.) Also picked up a vivitar camera binocular set for $20. on sale from $30.  It is really neat.  So, we worked on the living room and got the rest of the sheetrock replaced around the door and the rest of the built-in cabinets pulled out.  This morning I am going to recaulk around the bottom of the new door, roll the ceiling in the living room and paint the trim on the outside door before it gets too cold tonight all before I go to work.  I don't like their holiday schedule.  I work Mon. - Friday.  For holidays, since we are a bospital, I take turns working one holiday and having the next one off.  I still get a day off so when I work a holiday, I get the next day off.  This sucks this time though.  Since I worked Thanksgiving, I was off Friday and have to go back in and work today.  I'd rather have worked Friday too and had my weekend off so I could be off two days in a row.  My old butt needs two days off in a row each week to recouperate.  Didn't do well with my eating yesterday.  I ate about 2 oz of tuna for breakfast and then a slice of turkey for lunch and then another for supper.  I may have gotten in the minimum on the protein.  Well I better go get busy.  I want to be ready to finish floating and taping the wall joints on Sunday so I can get the final painting done this week before we replace the floor.  Have a good weekend everyone.
