Surgery scheduled 17 Nov 2008 performed

Well all went well Monday.  I spent 2 and a half days at BHMC LR w/o any complications.  I cannot say that I have been hungry since the procedure, but I still have cravings for food I know are not good for me.  Have not fallen for the temptation.  According to my scales I have dropped 20 Lbs.  I am still a little sore, but have not experience any pain to speak of.  My wife is afraid to eat food in front of me, even thou I assure her it will not bother or tempt me. 

I attened the Support Group Meeting on Thrusday, 13 Nov 2008.  I believe that it was a huge help.  I plan to make as many meetings as posible.

Congratulations! I know what you mean about the food cravings and not being hungry.  I am 5 months out and still find myself thinking about what to eat when I'm not even hungry.  It helps to plan out what you are going to eat for the whole day and record it at you go, it

Welcome to the loser's bench!  Just follow doctors orders and like you said..attend the support meetings all that you can.  They really help every time.

Congrats on your surgery and welcome to the group.   There are a bunch of very helpful folks on here, so don't hesitate to ask about anything you need help with.  Looking forward to meeting you.  You will be amazed how much better you feel and how quickly things begin to get better.  If I can be of any help along the way, just let me know.  I'm 8 months out now and haven't had any problems.  Just follow DRs orders to the letter and good things will happen.

Thanks Steve, I plan on being at the next meeting with the wife coming along.  The last week has be a little hecktic.  Besides the surgery, we have had other things going on.  Today we finnally had our heating/air conditioning system replaced.  And TG is in three days.  It will be a new experience, not sampling all of the food the wife prepares.  But the company will be great.

Next month, I already know of 4 separate trips to LR that I will have to make and 2 trips to HS.  It will be a busy month.  Family coming in from both the West and East Coasts.  With one son who will not be here (he is in Ira****il April 09).
