Morning one and all!

Just dropping in before starting a busy day off. Why is it  that our days off are busier then the days we work?  Sometimes I wonder how I ever get it done....maybe just forging ahead....

So, I sent off an e-mail to the Nut in Conway about my 3 lbs. I know....obsessing over 3 lbs sounds silly, but I've been told by many long term post ops that about two years out you can start to gain, and I SURE don't want that to happen if I can help it.

Yesterday was okay, but not great. Ended up adding another FF latte last evening to get some good calories in since my day at work was busy and no time for decent snacks.

Here is is....the good, the bad, the reality

Good Morning Susan and friends,

I think it's OK to obsess over three pounds - that's what keeps it from becoming 10 pounds, then 15, etc, etc, etc.

How about a little good news this morning?  Just got informed that the Alltel sale to Verizon will not close before the end of the year.  That means continued employment thru at least year end and the accrual of another year's vacation pay, when the deal does close.  Made my day!

Hope all of you who are recovering from being sick and from surgeries are improving rapidly.  Ain't no fun feeling bad.

Dian made me some chili yesterday using shredded chicken for the meat.  It was yummy and the texture was way better than using ground turkey.   Had some left over for today as well.   Great numbers - low fat, plenty of protein, and good carbs.

Hope everyone has a great day today.

Great news!!!!  Made your day?  Year, I would think!

I make a great chicken chili using a package of seasoning mix from Schilling, White chicken Chili, I think it's called. Found in the aisle where the taco seasoning and gravy packets are. Use shredded chicken and white beans. I add chopped cilantro and some 2% Mexican cheese, maybe a little dab of plain Greek yogurt too......Yummo!!!  Takes about 15 minutes to put it together since it uses canned beans and leftover chicken.

I decided to take the rest of the day off.  I don't NEED to... but I just WANT to.  So I did.  Why not, right?

I can totally understand the worry over the 3 pounds (if it's not coming back off anyway).  I agree with Steve.  The nipping it in the bud at 3 pounds is what keeps it from being 5 or 10 pounds.

Personally, now that I am maintaining, I am seeing that whole "fat redistribution" thing that happens when you stop losing for a while.  The little body fat that I have left is started to readjust itself.  The bad thing is... HOW (read WHERE) it is readjusting itself.

I have ALWAYS carried most of my weight in my stomach.  Even when I was a teenager, I had a big belly.  Even when I was NOT big, I had a big belly.  That is where I carry MOST of my weight.

I had HOPED that that would change.  It has not.  I STILL carry most of my fat in my stomach.  It seems that the redistribution is not helping my stomach at all.  If anything, sometimes it seems worse.

My legs and hips are pretty normal.  My arms and above my breasts look like I am from Ethiopia.  My stomach... still there.  My pot belly is with me for life it seems.

I know it sounds stupid.  I should not have expected WLS to change the way my entire body was BUILT.  But honestly... I guess I did.  Part of me just hoped that I'd lose so much that I wouldn't have a stomach.  I have ALWAYS wanted one of those flat stomachs.  I'm not asking for wash board abs here.  I'd settle for just a FLAT stomach.  But losing weight, no matter how much it seems, does not UNdo the way we are made.

I am now facing the fact that my body is just made with a pot belly.  I weigh about 126 pounds for pete's sakes.  I'm wearing a 0 - 4 in women's sizes and a 0 - 7 in juniors sizes.  (That sounds like a lot of variation.  But sizes are WHACKED nowadays and I never know WHAT size I'm going to be until I try something on.  They make so many different "fits" nowadays.)  I'm not losing any more.  So I am stuck with this pot belly forever.  Gone are the dreams of it disappearing with the weight loss.

Oh well... I have bemoaned that long enough.

Here was my intake for yesterday....

Not much going on here today.  Getting ready to go to PT for my knee at 1 and not looking forward to that at all.  Still having alot of pain but that is to be expected right now.  Soon tho I will be walking and running with the best of em LOL.
I think I am at a stand still on losing.  I have not lost any in over a month now.  I have not been able to do much exercising in about 3 months now.  Hopefully I will be able to start walking and doing more when this knee improves.  Then hopefully I will start to lose again.  But in all honesty I can not complain.  I am not at my goal weight by any means, but like I told my husband if I do not lose anymore I am happy.  As long as I do not gain anymore either.  I am feeling so much better and I can do so much more than I could.  LOL I am not a teenager anymore so that perfect figure is not a concern of mine at all just feeling better and being more healthy is all I am after.  I am off most of the meds I was on before my surgery.  That is a hugh plus.
All is going great with the Christmas Card Exchange.  We have about 10 signed up now and still have a week for others to sign up.  I think it is going to be alot of fun not to mention boosting each other up.
I hope all of you are having an awsome day!!
Huggers,

Well, today was another day,  still no go poo!!!!  But Im on pretty much all liquid, and drinking lots of fluids, called the doc, he said no worries, to use a bottle of Fleet Phos-pho soda w/juice and then just hang out close to the potty.
Going to be hard headed and do milk of mag and coffee one more day. I dont hurt as bad, and I think things are moving, just slow to move down.
Got out and walked a bit this afternoon around the father in laws property, hands are still swollen from the steroids, and they told me to take fluid pills and up my potassium to ward off the cramps.

So, I was a good girl food wise, didnt get in many calories, but lots of fluids.

Breakfast-1 pack instant oatmeal w/real milk
Lunch-1 pack instant oatmeal w/real milk
Dinner-Will be some grape nuts heated w/some splenda
Lots of diet sprite, tea and juice.

Going to continue w/coffee, seems to help things move, so I will be around, just not sitting far from the bathroom.

Glad that Steve got such wonderful news, another vacation!!!!  That is wonderful.

Susan, I hope the gas stays normal, so maybe we can have an imprpomptu meeting in December, I need to sample that glorious hair stuff!!  I need all the help I can get at this point!!  I'll try and call you later and see what the prices and stuff are, Im currently using my good ole Biolage, but I want to try yours too!!!  Always wanting to help a sister out!!

Hugs, and some better feelings,

Good Evening everyone...

I am doing well after my fill.  Was pretty uneventful, but Dr. Gibbs gave me 1cc instead of the 1/2.  He said that should do the trick.  I'm all for that considering all these holidays.  I always appreciate people giving me a Christmas gift on my route, but I surely hope this year they don't give me any 'treats'.  I do really love the thought of being appreciated though.  I am happy to say I am not hungry.  Also finally got to meet up with Steve and get that beautiful pen from him for my soninlaw's birthday present.  Good to see everyone's post.
Susan, I'll be checking with you soon to see about getting some of your products.

Today was crazy busy.  Still tying up loose ends for my old job, but it's hard to do so when I really don't care anymore -- apathy is a bad thing.  I've only got to make myself give a darn for another couple weeks... that's what I keep telling myself.

No news on the job front for my hubby.  I'm a little peeved at him for waiting so long to begin applying for jobs; he was stuck in vacation mode for a few weeks there.  We had a come-to-Jesus and I laid down the law, and since then, he's been good about checking the paper and websites regularly.  He's got lots of apps in now, but you know how slowly things move at the end of the year.  We've still got a couple months of severance left, so no immediate worries for us.  On the flipside, he's been cleaning like crazy!  It's wonderful to come home to a clutter-free home. :-)

I went to Drug Emporium today after work.  Gosh, I didn't realize it'd been so long since I was last there; it's sure changed a lot!  I picked up lots of little low-carb treats to try out and a big jug of the peach Nectar.  My hair has been coming out by the handful... I'm *very* lucky I had a lot to begin with.

Anyway, here's what I ate yesterday.  I also rode my exercise bike pretty hard for 30 minutes ****pt my heart rate ~130 most of the time).  I was so tired today, maybe I overdid it - ha ha.  It felt good knowing that I was working to take care of myself, much as I prefer being a slug. ;-)
