Mother of Three
Hi Amanda,
There really isn't anything other than starting to eat in a healthy way for now. You can start by cutting back on fried foods, limiting your sugar intake, and in essence, just start making the lifestyle changes now that you will be doing for your health the rest of your life.
Lap band, as well as gastric bypass are only tools to help you lose weight. It will be up
to you to make the changes in your eating that will maximize what that tool does for you.
As far as pre-op dieting, Carrie will give you any instructions you need to follow before your surgery. So for now, I'd just start paying attention to what you are eating and making the most out of what you eat.
Good luck to you. Dr Gibbs is my surgeon and I couldn't be more pleased with his care.
Take care!
