Job update

Well, I finally slowed down long enough to let everyone know my GREAT job news!!!!

After going Thursday and talking to the program director of Americorps/VISTA, the government program I work under, I felt so much better. I did not have to go back to the office where I stayed miserable, I did not have to contact the boss who was incompetent, all I had to do was go home and let her figure out what they were gonna do with me.  I recieved a call Thursday evening that simply said, "Call me in the morning, and we'll tell ya the big plan."  So on Friday morning (another day given off work!!!) I called her and they are going to put me in Fordyce, my home town, where I will not have to drive 28 miles one way to work, and I will be starting a grass roots organinzation here to help the elderly.  It is called Carenet.  We have one in Magnolia, Hampton and ElDorado. 
I will be recruiting folks to take elderly people to the doctor, shopping, install shower and bath rails for them, build wheel chair ramps, and so on.  Im soooo excited!!!!!
I will be my own boss, so no one to argue with, and no one to tell me, hatefully might I add, what I can and cant do.!!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know.  Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts.  Its been a stressful week, but thank God, its a new one today!!!

Rhonda, what a perfect fit for you!!!  This sounds wonderful, and I'm sure you'll not only be happier, but you'll be very good at it too.  Does this mean you'll be able to come back to support group????  Please, please(she says selfishly)

Yes, I plan to be at the November support group.  I will kinda set my own hours, so I will ask myself if I can take off at noon that day to come to Little Rock.  Im sure I'll let myself, but sometimes I can get cranky!!!!!

Mike is ready to come back, he misses seeing all of the beautiful women!!  Cant wait to meet Steve, the other man in my life, lol!!!  Speaking of, what happend to Michael??

I'll be happy to bring some pens to our meeting next month.  I am also sending you a little brochure (excel file) I have that shows many of the styles I have available.  Just let me know if you have any questions or problems with the file.

My job situation still remains about the same.  Latest info I have is that the FCC will probably approve the sale on november 4 and that they will try to close the deal on November 17.   No word yet on when they'll send us packing.  They promised us 30 days notice, so no news is good news.   Sure is strange sitting around waiting for the end.  I will "celebrate" my 30 year anniversary with Alltel on Wednesday, and if you had promise me 30 years when I started there, I would have been tickled to death, so I guess I really have a lot to be thankful for.  They will also give a good severence package so I'll have some time to decide what I want to be when I grow up.

Good luck with your new job.  I know you will do very well with it.

Congratulations Rhonda on the new position!  You deserve it.  My daughter worked for Americorps for a year in Balitmore to help with her graduate studies.  I know you are so happy now.

I've been out of the loop here lately. I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off and I had no idea that you were working with the devil! I'm so happy that you have found something that will be much better for you.

The devil himself couldnt have been this bad, lol!!!  Its all good now, Im happy and life is good!!  May I never have to deal w/the ignorance Ive dealt with since August 25.
Im my own boss now, make my own hours, and only have to argue w/myself.  Geez, after all of this, it might get kind of boring, lol.

Thanks for keeping in touch, wish we could all meet!!!  Maybe someday!!
