Starting clear liquids tomorrow...

Today finishes up my 14th day of protein shakes.  I have to say I cheated twice.  Once was a little chicken noodle and then last night a bite or two of taco salad.  But I have lost a grand total of 19 pounds.  I am hoping to lose one more tomorrow to make it an even 20.  I have to go get my weight faxed in to Dr. Baker tomorrow.  Also my CPAP card has to be downloaded and faxed in.  I did have only had 3 shakes today and NO food has gone in my mouth at all.  I do not want him to find anything in my stomach that he could question.  I will do jello and broth tomorrow and enjoy the change.

Whew... this has been a long journey but the hours start counting down in the morning.  I am pretty calm, unless I think about my girls.  I am telling myself that I did my research and I have the best doctor out there and there is no reason to think about the what ifs.  I walked my 60 minutes today and have been for quite a while everyday.  I know that I have to get up and walk as soon as I can so I do not get a blood clot.  I had a blood disorder when I was pregnant so I completely understand the importance of that, now if my body will agree I will be fine.

Of course I had so much to do today and today was a day from heck.  Our plumbing stopped up so I had crap everywhere, then when I tried to shampoo the carpet the shampoo made a really bad sound, my daughter spilled water all over the floor.  And I had four more photo sessions to do today, and now I am suppose to be proofing them so I can get them ordered before surgery.

Now I am waiting for tomorrow so I can start my new large list of things to do.

Hey Amy, you are going to do just great with surgery.  You got past the hard part: The insurance approval, if you are'nt self pay.  Your new life is just around the corner!  You have my prayers and support and here's to an uneventful sugery and a speedy recovery!  What hospital will you be at?  And I was just wondering why you have to download your CPAP card and fax it to Dr. Baker?  And did you have to lose weight before your surgery?  (((hugs))) Amanda

Dr. Baker will not do your surgery unless you have been using your CPAP machine.  I have been told that if you leave it in the car he may even cancel your surgery.  He is very strick on that.  He didn't give me a specific amount of weight I had to lose but he does say that while you are on the protein shakes for two weeks you MUST lose weight or you will not have surgery.  I have already faxed that in and my total weight loss was 19 pounds.

Thanks everyone for the prayers.

I will be at Baptist.

They just called and moved my surgery up to 9:30!
