I will betcha
I am so sorry to hear this AB, I was in your same postition last year, I worked for the Federal Reserve Bank for almost 10 years when they closed our office down. It was a scary thing, but I made it thru it and you will too. I drew unemployement for 6 months before I found a decent job (a job that I love BTW) my advice to you is not only should you apply for online jobs, but do as much as possible at applying in person or calling around, I had the most luck thru those ways.
Good Luck to you, you will get thru this, it is just another bump in the road of life.

You know the crazy thing is that I have never had trouble finding a job, even at 300-322 I got my current job which yes paid for my tonsillectomy, gastric bypass, gallbladder surgery, Essure and bunionectomy, so I do take a lot with me, but my Birthday is Friday and I will be 37 and that is just so hard to think of starting over again. I have been through a lot in my young years after a divorce and on my own with an 8 month old at 24 and no education. I have my Bachelors in Bus. Admin now and my stock brokers license in that time, I will survive but man it does hurt!

Bummer. No, seriously. I'm so sorry this happened to you. This is a scary time for everyone. What is it you did? Do you have a Blue Cross of AR office anywhere near you? They are hiring a LOT of people in the next year. My son just got a job there yesterday, pays over $27K a year to start with great bennies. Did you have any warning that this was coming? Man, it really does stink!
My family still lives in California (San Diego is our hometown) and they financial situation there is so bad they can't balance the State budget so Gov. Arnold won't sign it. ALL State employees, everyone, regardless of seniority or pay scale is making $6.55 an hour until the budget gets signed. My BIL will lose his job the end of this week, and he has three kids at home.
Take care of yourself, we're here for ya!!!

I had actually thought of that myself and have a history as a benefits manager and doing insurance and billing and collections for an oncology group, so I need to seek that one out and will make the local office one of my stops today. I am going to take Jake to school, then come home and get cleaned up and dressed up. I have resume's ready to hand out and already had one job offer yesterday at an old employer, only $10 an hour but it is something in the meantime and if I take it and start then the severance would pay off the credit cards and make a big diff! for me. something to consider in the next week. I have other brokerages in town that are on hiring freezes and could and most likely will be hiring soon in the future and have been told by one that I am top on its list as soon as the freeze is up. I know I am strong and smart but sometimes you just feel like a big fat loser!!!!!!!! I forgot to eat yesterday and certianly didnt take any supplements being so upset so I have to get back on track with that also.
Thanks
