Hi, congratulations!  Welcome to the other side.  The best thing for gas is walking.  Get up at least once an hour and walk around the house.  The more you walk around, the quicker it goes away.  I don't know much about the band.  I've seen several posts where people have referenced going for their "first fill".  Somebody on here will know.  I didn't have any problems with drinking after my surgery.  Good luck.

YAY! I'm so glad that you finally made it and had your surgery! I'm excited for you! You are probably thinking....what the heck did I do?....but trust me, you did the right thing. You made the best decision for yourself! Take care and let me know if you need anything at all!

Mike, congratulations on the successful surgery and glad you are home.  There definately is a spot here on the loser's bench.  Things will get better.  I had terrible bloating the first week.  Had surgery on a Monday and Sunday, the bloating pain finally went away.  Made me feel 100% better.  But, all that week, I was thinking if this is the way I'm going to feel from now on, I have made a terrible mistake.  Things get better each day, include the ability to release the gas.  Good luck, Michael
