Nearing 6 months out
Now, let's talk. Yes.....stop getting on the scale every day, especially since you're at a point where things are slowing down. It's only going to frustrate you more. You don't need that! Have you measured yourself lately? Sometimes those numbers are much more reassuring than the ones on the scale.
Next, how's your eating? At six months out you should be getting about 800 cals a day, maybe a bit more if you exercise regularly. ...50% of that from protein, 20% fat and 30% carbs. Sometimes if you kick up your protein intake to 90-100 grams a day it will start your loss again. Do you eat breakfast?? It is soooo important. Your body needs to know it's time to start the engine running (your metabolism), so the only way to do that is to eat breakfast....within 90 minutes of getting up. Do you journal your food? You don't even need to use Fitday.com or sparkpeople.com, just writing it down will help make you more accountable and when you see what you're eating in black and white, you might notice where things need to be adjusted. Are you movin' to lose? Get out and walk, then walk a bit farther each time.
Hope these suggestions help. Believe me, Dr Gibbs will be very happy with your progress.... and you should be too!

I've heard of the "honeymoon" being up to 18 months so you are still golden! I shot for at least 50% of excess weight loss by my 6 month mark, but that was my own personal goal. You can expect to have to work harder to lose at this point because of the law of diminishing returns. I think I read in one of your other posts that you started out with a little over 200 to lose. Say you had lost 100 pounds(since I don't know your exact numbers), that is 50% of your excess weight or about 8.5% of your excess weight per month on average. Now that you only have 100 to lose (hang in there and follow me) if you are to lose 8.5% of your excess weight next month, that will be 8.5 pounds. The next month it would only be 7.8 pounds. The next it would only be 7.
My point is that your weight loss may not be slowing down, you just don't have as much to lose now! BTW...even though I'm a big math geek, there may be errors in my numbers, but when I re-read it...it made a little sense....lol.
