broke my foot
Now I know why it hurt so badly! ha! I thought it was just my arthritis getting worse. So I have to wear this special shoe for a month and can't walk much. That had me down because I just haven't been able to lose anymore weight. But guess what? I was down 4 pounds this morning!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!! I am so excited and ready to get back on track! Just wanted to tell someone who might be able to relate....Some people don't really want to hear about it but I knew you guys would understand how I feel. Anyone got any suggestions about exercise since I can't really walk much?
Hey Jeannie,
Two months after my rny I had a partial tear of my Achilles tendon. Then, three months later I completely blew it out. Six weeks after that, I developed an infection which caused 4 more surgeries and a week in the hospital, a month w/ home health (IV antibiotics) and I STILL lost 114lbs!
Try lightweight hand weights. Might as well start working on those arms since the feet aren't going anywhere.
Take good care of yourself!

I broke a bone in my foot about 10 years ago by turning my ankle and hitting the foot just right on a corner of a stepping stone. Ouch...going to college at UCA with crutches really was not cool. The boot thing is pretty neat though and you should be able to walk better in a week or so. Just take it easy with walking. Do the weights with your arms. You might look at ebay or something for "chair exercises" that "old folk" :-0 do. Your leg muscle will loose some mass during this time, but you will gain it back. You might be able to get in an indoor pool? Don't know how waterproof your shoe is, but it wasn't too big a deal with mine. I just dried the cloth part.
Ouch! It's amazing how easy it is to break the bones in your feet! I don't have a clue how I even broke mine! It just started hurting...The shoe I have can be taken off so the pool would be a good idea....And the chair exercises would be appropriate because I am an "old folk"! ha!
I appreciate you writing! Hope your foot healed up nicely and doesn't hurt when it rains!
