Got through it

My surgery went well, and got home Thursday evening after spending an extra day in OKC with family.  Haven't felt like sitting down at the computer till now.  Pain is getting easier.  It is harder to control this at first than I thought.  I ate a SF popsicle first night and ate it like I normally would.  Thought I was going to pass out!   Told my wife I can't determine what I am feeling -- pain, fullness, bloating, etc.

Glad you are home and doing well. Be careful about eating or drinking too fast. When I first got home, I took some medicine and drank just a little bit too much water. My lord, felt like someone had took their fist and hit me in the chest. Fast way to learn your lesson about sipping tha****er.  But it sure makes it hard to get those pills down. It takes a while to get over the surgery. So just take your time and be careful not to push doing things too soon. Trust me, it does get better. Best of luck to you.

Glad to hear that all went well.  Take it slow and easy while you heal.   Your new little pouch will take some time to heal up.  For me, cold things, even water, made Oscar the Pouch pretty grouchy while he was still new.  I had to go with room temp stuff for a while.  Seems that the cold stuff really tightened up the small pouch.   At 6 months out its pretty well back to normal other than the volume limitations.  As to the feelings in the pouch, it will take a while for all the nerves to start functioning again, so just stay with the program and don't look for a much pouch feeling for a while (unless you overfill it).  The feelings will return in time as well.  Hope all continues to go well for you and we are here if you have any questions or concerns you want to bounce off someone.  You will be amazed at how fast things move from here.

Congratulations!

I agree with what others have said... take it easy and slow.  You certainly don't want to hurt yourself and end back up in the hospital.

You can do this!  Welcome to the loser's bench!

Congratulations!  I'm so glad everything went well.  I'm only 8 weeks out (as of tomorrow!!) and I can completely relate to what you're saying.  Things have gotten considerably better over the last two weeks, though, so HANG IN THERE!!!  And ditto on the cold liquids, they were not good for quite a while.  Try some lukewarm (decaf) tea with a little lemon juice.

Welcome to the loser's bench!!
