Hi Lisa, and welcome!
I'm a Gibbs patient too. My 2 year surgiversary is this Sunday and I think Dr Gibbs is a life saver.
Pureed food is not as much of a challenge as you might think. Tuna, really, really mushed up with some fat free or low fat mayo; deli ham or turkey run through a food processor until mushy, again, a little mayo and/or mustard, Oatmeal, applesauce, canned fruit, yogurt.
You get the idea. Any questions, just let us know. If one of us doens't know the answer, someone will or we'll find it!

Hi Lisa, I guess I am new to this forum also. I was banded on 08/19/08 by Dr. Fuller (he is in w/Dr. Gibbs) I am on this mushy foods diet right now. I just have been following the nutritionist directions. (if you did not get these instructions, I will be happy to give them to you.) I have lost 25 pounds so far. (Yay for me!) Really to tell you the truth, I have not been that hungry, except the for the other night when my kids had pizza. (favorite food) Oh, how I wished I could eat that pizza. But I was strong and did not even take one bite. Plus I am too scared to even think about eating something like that b/c of it making me sick.
Wish you luck with your weight loss. I go back to Dr. Fuller on the 17th for my 1st fill. Maybe all of you who have had this done can give me tips, or at least tell me what to expect.
Thanks, Crystal

Hi Lisa and welcome ! I was banded on May 1st by Dr. Wellborn and I love my band. I just had my 4th fill and hoping this is the "one" that gets me to my sweet spot. As far as the mushie stage goes if you dont have a magic bullett, you should get one, I love mine. You can pretty much put anything in it, add broth or some liquid and make it mushie.

Hi, welcome to the Arkansas board! I am Evelyn, I am a long time poster here, but haven't been making it to the boards much the past few months.
I am glad that you found us here, we are a great little support group, and we have lots of fun on here. Have you also checked out ObesityHelp's LapBand forum to?
ETA: I want to add that there was this great cookbook I had found at the library not long ago, it was for cooking for kids (from baby to toddlers) and it had tons of great recipes for all stages of a child's life, and even for families. It had basic recipes all the way to really nice recipes. It's chapters were divided by the different stages of food, from puree all the way to finger foods, and even soft foods, and most were healthy.
I can't remember the name of it, but go to your library and look at the cookbook section and check out some books for babies.
