I DID IT!!!!!
Well, for those who have been around a while, you know my obsession w/my horses. Well, since February when I fell off the mule, I have not been on one since. Today was the day, rode one today that I had never ever been on, she is 2 years old and a wonderful animal. I was SOOOOO scared, but I rode her around in the barn at the trainers then I rode her out of the barn and just walked her. It felt so good I cried.
Im gonna ride her every day this week and see what happens, I hope to have my confidence up enough to go trail riding on her next weekend!!! Just wanted to let every one know of my victory. A small thing to some, but a big step for me in my life, I was terrified, but she is wonderful. Gonna try and get Mikey to take photos tomorrow, I'll post!!!
Hope everyone has a great week talk tomorrow, headed for the bath!!! Hugs and love to all,
Rhonda D. the one who is getting her confidence back!!!

That is awesome. I haven't rode horses in years. The last time I rode I had to have help getting up in the saddle because I have the shortest legs of anyone 5'6" ever and it was embarassing because I was fat! I would probably still have to have help but I wouldn't be embarassed now. I wouldn't fear doing any damage stepping into someones hand for a little boost...I was terrified back then! Congrats to you and post some pictures!!

Well, I didnt ever think I'd do it, but I did. I remember Shawna not being able to get on my horse b/c I was too FAT. I had to get on the back of the truck or stand on a filled 5 gallon bucket or something. I'll never ever forget the day I was able to mount my horse by myself. I will never take for granted getting on my horse. Today when I rode Miss Gypsy for the second time, I just got on her and rode off. Was I scared again today?? OH HECK YEAH!!!! I rode her fresh, no one rode her down for me, I just got on and rode. Getting more confident, but still respectful, made Mike walk w/us down the road for the first loop, till I got my balance good. Its great exercise, tomorrow Im sure the thighs will be sore, but a sweet sore.
Have a good one,

Hey Robyn,
Lots of folks dont realize what good exercise it is. Especially when you are as scared as I was, lol. I was doing some major gripping, different for walking horses than quarter horses, if you grip a walking horse, they do ok, as a quarter horse gets faster!!!! So I gripped and did some major thigh toning, if I can continure to ride every day, I can see some major thigh work going on!!!!
It is a liberating feeling, especially since I have not been riding that long, to be able to get on and ride is wonderful!!!
Good luck and get back on those horses, they are great creatures!!!
