I feel like a fool...another rock in the road but hey,it's my fault!Right?
Hi Gang,
I hope this message finds everyone healthy and Happy.I got a reply from Christy the other day.You see,I emailed to make sure she had all my lab results and papers that she needed. My Doctor had promised to send everything right away.I kept asking him about it on my appointments and said was going to send/did send....Come to find out,Christy said she looked in my chart only to find ONE thing about a sleep study but wasn't even the right form they needed....and that was all, nothing else was in my chart!I just feel like I've been let down again by Doctors...You see, this is my second go around with all this. The Primary Doc that I'd been with for 5 years just up and split town.I had an appointment one day to see him as usual, went up there to my appointment to find a sign on his door saying he wouldn't be back and his patients were to find a new primary doc....After that,I went through hell to get my records from him only to find out that he had lied and never documented anything that he said he was each visit.
on to the next doctor...Everything had to be started over,we jumped right into the requirements and everything was going great,or so I thought...Then,as I had an appointment the next day,we got a phone call from his office saying that the Doctor wouldn't be coming back to work for a long while...He was shut down and it was this huge mess with the Arkansas Med Board....To make a long story short,He's back now after 5 months or so of being unable to practice and before all this went down,he was supposed to send all the things I've been working on,the requirements for surgery, etc.Well,He sent nothing, not one thing....It's hard for me to trust any Doctor anymore and I just feel like everything is against me getting this surgery.I guess It's my fault for not making sure Christy had what she needed...Lesson Learned and all is not lost I do suppose.I am going to hound the ex-doctors office and make them get all of my records for me to pick up so I can send the lab results and whatever else is needed to Christy(Assuming this Doctor even has those records...)
Needless to say,The Primary Doctor that I'm with now is very nice and I'm starting to trust him. He's doing everything he can to help me get the things I need for the WLS.I just hope he doesn't up and leave too..I think two doctors back to back is too many!I'm sorry for rambling but really needed to get this all out...I feel as if I'm being left behind and I'm really ready for this and have been for a long, long time.Once I can get the labs to Christy which I've done TWO sets of with TWO diff docs,if I can ever hunt the records down from either...All I should like is the seminar with Dr.Baker.Everything else should be in order.I'm going to get right on it and if I can't hunt the records down,I'll have my new primary Doc to runs the lab tests again...that's all I know what to do!
I went to the support group mid last month and it was the one in Batesville. It was held in this tiny room with a whole lot of people,we were so packed there wasn't enough room to breath!I just felt really uncomfortable because I didn't know anyone there,no familiar faces.I would have enjoyed it alot more if I hand went to a Little Rock support group,or one where some of you all attend...some familiar faces would have been nice..I don't think I'll go back to the Batesville one,I'm not sure yet...If not,I'll go to the Little Rock ones!
Random thought:Man..Do I still have enough time to get my WLS done BEFORE the new year if i get all my ducks in a row?I sure hope so...
Thanks for letting me vent!
BTW,CONGRATS Amy on getting a date! What a lucky lady you are, you'll go great!
Love you guys,
Crystal

Thanks Crystal.
I can't believe all the trouble you have had with doctors, that is just crazy. I really hope you have a great one this time. I went through a lot of trouble with getting my information faxed in. From my experience, the doctor may very well have doc all of the information but the medical records has a hard time pulling and faxing exactly what you need. I even stood over my gal one time while faxing to make sure she did it and it still didin't work. I had a copy of the doc just in case I needed it, I faxed it myself and Christy still didn't get that information either. And then Christy had to fax all 42 pages of doc to my insurance company FOUR times before they got all of it. So do get discouraged the docs may be there they just aren't coming through.
Here is what I did and you may want to give it a try. Find out exactly what all Christy needs. Is it just the blood work? Unless your insurance company requires this she should be able to send in for an approval. I did. I had to have the 6 month doc from the doctor, the pysic evel, and a five year history. As soon as Christy got all of that she sent it in to my insurance company who is BCBS Texas, after they finally got all of the pages, it only took them 2 days to approve it. Now I am doing my blood work on Monday morning.
Ok back to what I did, find out exactly what Christy needs, make an appointment with your doctor. Ask him if that is in your file, if so ask for a copy. Then ask to take your chart to medical records, personally hand them the papers and ask them to fax to this number.... while you wait. Then go home and call or email Christy, if she doesn't have it, go to your local Office Depot or somewhere and fax it yourself. Call to make sure she has it, if she doesn't then you can fax it until she gets it. I also went to my church and faxed some things at no cost. I have also scanned and emailed forms to her that we couldn't get to go through the fax.
Don't give up, You can have this done before the end of the year.

Amy,
Thanks so much for your reply and enouraging words.I'm going to get to work on all of that bright and early Monday morning. You must be so excited to get approved. How do you feel about it?Are you getting nervous yet?You sound like a woman who knows exactly what she wants and how to get things done. That will work to your advantage when you get the WLS done and I just know you're going to do great.
Are you going to have to do the shakes diet for 2 or 4 weeks?I don't know what the doc goes by to decide which,BMI or weight alone, not sure.
So what made you decide to go with Dr.Baker, since you live in Texas?I'm just curious about it because I'm sure there are some good surgeons in Texas too.
EDIT:Whoops I now that your profile says from Arkansas,I don't know why I was thinking you lived in Texas.Sorry!

Crystal probably because my insurance is BCBS Texas, my husbands company is based out of Texas so we ended up with the Texas insurance.
Let me know if you need any help and I will be glad to do what I can for you. I can't remember who you said your insurane was with. Do you know exactly what you have to have for them?
