Wendy I am SO glad you gave me the heads up on the blood work.  I took Aleve every day and I stopped it as soon as you said that.  I can have my blood work drawn on Monday.  Christy said is working on a date for me according to that.  I am so glad I didn't have to wait longer.

I'm glad I could help!

When you have your blood work done, be sure your PCP (or lab, whoever will get the results) will fax it over to Dr. Baker.  And after you have your blood work done, keep calling your PCP (or whoever does your blood work) every day until they say all the blood work results are in and have been faxed.

Then call Christi to make SURE that they GOT the fax.  (Dr. Baker's fax machine is total crap.  That's probably the only foul word you will EVER hear me say about that man or that office.  But it's the truth.  Their fax machine is almost worthless.)

If she doesn't have them, keep calling your PCP and having them refax it until Christi DOES get them.  (This may help you avoid another day or two delay.)

NOONE will make getting your date a NUMBER 1 priority but YOU.  So you kind of have to stay on top of everyone.  It's worth it.

Good luck!

Ok I so agree about the fax machine.  I know it ate at least two of our faxes and it took her FOUR times to fax it to my insurance company!

I am going Monday to my local PCP for the blood work, he will send it off.  I am understanding the importance of calling everyday.  I had to sent a HIPPA release twice because they didn't get the fax at UAMS.  I may also go get a copy of the results so I can scan an email to her again if the fax doesn't work.

So will she not give me a surgery date until the blood work is complete?  She had told me before that as soon as we knew the insurance gave the ok she would set me up with a date.

She returned my call tonight but I missed her, today was the girls first day of dance.

I have asked for a date the week of Oct 13th.  This is what she and I had talked about with my picture schedule.   Does anyone remember what days he does surgery?  I am sure it is the same each week.

Oh, right after I talked with the insurnace company I swear I was dizzy and then I had to find a tape shoe and of course it was no where to be found but I did find our dog with my CPAP mask around her little nose.  She had chewed it up.  Now I have only had the crazy thing for 6 days so I had to go shell out the bucks for a new one.  I will be putting it in a drawer from now on.  She is so bad about chewing things when we leave her alone during the day.  It was a crazy 15 mintues at my house.  I wanted to call the insurance company back again just so I could hear them say it was accepted.

I know that they wanted my blood work first.  My mom is self-pay and they didn't get her a consult date or surgery date until she had all her blood work faxed in.  But maybe that is not a die-hard rule?

I know he does surgeries on Mondays because my mom just got her date - 09/22/08!!!
