What are you eating and what's eating you?

Okay, here we go with a new thread.  Read my post below to see what's happening!

Yesterday was a pretty darn good day. I mowed the lawn....both sides ( large front yard) and didn't die!  For you newbies, this is a big deal....a little over a year ago I had a complete rupture of my Achilles tendon, 5 surgeries, wheelchair, walker, therapy, no fun. So, there I was, pushing the mower on uneven ground, sweating like a piglet (not big enough anymore to sweat like a full grown pig) and I did it!!!  Then I did three loads of laundry, went grocery shopping and did a bunch of stuff around the house.  I'm a little sore this morning, but one proud chickie!

Food yesterday:   2 lattes, of course.  Bkfst was  eggbeaters w/ turkey sausage in a whole wheat tortilla. Lunch; tuna salad sandwich on double fiber bread. Dinner;  pad thai.  Snacks:  watermelon, a Quaker cruch bar.  LOTS of water and tea to make up for all that I lost while mowing.

Hope everyone has a great day.  Let's keep this thread going

Hey Susan,  I'm having trouble getting in all of my water because of my addiction to hot coffee and hot tea.  I know, I am going to have to stop.  So, today, I am going to drink two cups of coffee then switch to water and only after I get my water in will I take my cuppa tea.   Tonight I have a meeting to go to and there will be food.  I don't know about you but when I eat with groups of people and they notice that I am not eating large amounts and they make comments, I want to throw something at them.  I get so tired of hearing, you didn't eat very much, are you sick.  No, fucktard, I'm not sick, I am trying to get the remaining ten pounds off and if you haven't noticed, I haven't been eating much or like I was and is it any of your ******g buisness.  Okay, that's a little anger riddled but really.  Why is what's on my plate suddenly everyone's buisness?  Indeed!

Okay, for breakfast: pam cooked egg and a piece of extra fiber bread.

Snack:  probably a shake

Lunch: some meat and some green beans

snack: nada.  I'm saving for a glass of wine tonight

Dinner:  that'll be part of a dried out chicken breast and a vegetable and three, count them, three glasses of wine. Oh yeah.

snack: nada.

Oh Jeannie, how I've missed you!!

Have I told you I have a new Dietitian?  We had a meeting a couple of weeks ago and one of the things we talked about was liquids. I noticed a big jug of what appeared to be iced tea on her desk. "How do you feel about caffeinated drinks?"   "Liquids are liquids" was her response.   I can drink water, it's okay, but I do much better if it has some flavor.  I've been using the South Beach Diet  Tide Me Over drink packets.  They have protein and fiber in them and are much better diluted in more than the recommended 16 oz bottle of water.  I use the 20 oz ones and they're not so sweet and I get in an extra 4 oz of water to boot.

Yep, going to a barbecue tonight myself.  No alcohol though. Did one shot of tequila at my niece's wedding and was stupid drunk for about 30 minutes. Don't want to embarrass hubby at a co-worker's home.  Welllllll ..........ok...no. I'll be good.

Okay, yesterday I actually got up to (and 8 calories OVER my 1500 daily goal).  Even though Dr. Baker thinks it is okay, I think I'm eating too much protein yogurt.  So I think I'm going to cut that back and eat more densely caloric meals.  I don't know.  I'm tweaking things over the next day or so to see what feels best.

Yesterday I had...

Okay, I'm gonna ask the burning question:   is lettuce your only vegetable?  Girl, I don't think I've ever seen you eat any....do you?

I agree, if you try to incorporate more "meals" you might feel less like you're grazing.  Getting in all these calories is hard work. Trust me.  One morning out mowing the lawn and I lost  1.4 lbs. Probably water loss, so I'll push the fluids today and see what happens.

Take it easy!

Lettuce is usually my only vegetable.  I just don't eat a lot of them.  I don't care for most of them.  Kelly said that if I didn't like them to just make sure I ate fruit every day because they had a lot of the same vits & min in them as vegetables did.  So I don't worry a lot about it.

I'm not going to add a meal.  I think I'm just going to eat more high caloric meals than I currently eat.

I REALLY want to stay around 1/2 cup per meal because I'm worried that going much over that will get me used to eating bigger portions.  The last thing I need is to get used to bigger portions.  Maybe that's a mistake.  I don't know.

I just don't feel well eating that much frozen yogurt, even though it's protein and NSA and low-fat.  I feel like I have to eat it all night long to get up to my 1500 calories.  I don't want to get used to eating all night long, even if it is something that counts as a "liquid".  I smell danger in that long-term.

So I'm going to tweak things a bit today (already started) and I'm going to see how this works out.

Hey, I like this one!!!!

Yesterday was an ok day, still trying to figure out what Im doing at work, but hey!!!  I'll manage.
Worked from 8-5, drove home, fed the children, and while I was at the barn, bout killed my darn self.  We have a 3 prong rake that we keep at the barn for general purpose.  Well.....yesterday I sidestepped a chicken, yes a chicken, lol, and the prong rake was turned around backwards. I stepped on it and the handle promptly flew up and hit me in the head.  I thought I was going to die!!!!  Hurt like heck, so now I have this beautiful knot on my forehead, and Mike wouldnt let me go to sleep till midnight.
Came in from that episode and started laundry, cooked dinner, then sat around till I was allowed to go to bed.  Kept seeing spots and such, so I had to wait it out!!!!

As far as food, it was an ok day.

Breakfast-1 pkg Strawberry's n Cream Oatmeal

Snack-8 whole wheat ritz crackers

Lunch-5 bites of salad and 2 inches of a large deli sandwich w/ham turkey bologna and cheese.

Snack-Popcorn

Dinner-Homemade Spaghetti Sauce and 10 rotini noodles w/low fat parm cheese

Drank tea and coffee allllll day.  Try to keep something going on my desk at work all the time.  I need to work on my food, I am getting in too many carbs, Oh well, lots to work on!!!  Have a good day!!!

Hugs,
Rhonda D.

Didn't they used to do cartoons with characters getting whacked in the head with broom/rakes??? Poor girl, you know I'm only kidding.

You'll get the hang of work soon.  Hell, I've been doing my job for 32 years and sometimes I wonder what I'm doing  LOL

Hey....how about a little soft sided cooler that you can take string cheese, turkey pepperoni slices or yogurt in to work?  Might help with the protein for snacks. Or....keep a jar of peanut butter at your desk and spread some on those Ritz.  Try to keep it around a TBS.  PB is great, and it's good fat, but still fat.

Hugs to you and Mr Mike
