Picture problems

I have worked for hours (not really hours, just seems like it) trying to figure out to upload a picture to my avatar and finally managed to get one in my profile but cant seem to figure out to get it in my avatar..... I wanted to put a face on here but I'm computer illiterate!!
so anyway if you want see the face behind my post you can go to my profile at least till I have more time to figure it out!!

I always type in something like "free avatar sizing" in google and then find a website that resizes your picture. You'll upload your picture, it'll resize to the correct dimensions (It says what they are where you upload them on OH...I think 100 x 100) and then when it gives you your new avatar, right click and "save picture as". then upload that file onto the OH avatar! Hope that's not too confusing!

Mary Lou -- I went to the very top of the page, click on "Help", next to the "sign in".  The page that comes up has Instructional Video on the first line.  The second video, I believe, shows you how to put a pic for your avatar.  The only problem I had was getting to the correct size.  Good luck, Michael. 

I upload mine to photobucket, then edit and resize the picture to small size then right click on the pic and save it to your documents.

Thanks for all your help!  I'll try again, if all else fails I'll get my son to help he's a computer whiz!

Hi Mary and welcome to the board here.

I've taken a few screen shots that might help you out.You go into your profile then right above where your avatar should be it will say"Customize Profile"You want to click that and it should bring up another menu out to the side.Towards the top it should say"Change my avatar"and just click on that...it should take you to where you want to add an avatar.Hope this helps!
