Alcohol - yeah even a little is to much post-op

They were not kidding about alcohol affecting you differently after surgery.  I decided to sneak a few jiggers of tequila from a friend, I only drink like once a year and did not drink this new years eve (which is my once a year) so I figured being almost a year out I would have a jig (which I think is like a shotglass and half).  I felt so good, like warm and numb.  So I had another one, and then my face was fuzzy (well it felt fuzzy when I slapped it, haha) and I felt giggly, so yeah I poured one more and didn't even sip 1/4th of it before I felt smashed.  It would have taken 2 bottles of alcohol (or 1 small bottle of everclear) to get drunk before surgery.  Don't think I will be drinking again.  It kinds of defeats the fun of drinking if you get drunk before the party even starts, LOL. 

Who wants to be the first one rolling around the living room floor laughing and talking gibberish?  It's only fun when it's someone else doing it.  LOL  I am glad no friends were over, only my roomie and me. 

That's cute...I haven't tested those waters yet. I've had a small sip, but just to taste. I intend to throw a few back some day, but I figure I'll save it for something good...lol.

7 yrs post op......tested those waters....I can only tolerate about 3 beers if drank very slowly...
I do not take NYQUIL either.......OMG.......I would wake up naked on the kitchen floor if I took that mess.....as for the hard stuff......one shot........sip it and wait before another.

Of course I am not promoting drinking.....empty calories......impaired judgement...beer muscles.....everyone looks good.......no no no bad bad bad.....

but if any of you decide to test those waters please be aware it hits you quicker and with less amounts.....

I'm coming up on being 6 months post op.  I look forward to having a drink.  I've never been able to consume much alcohol anyway... so this will be interesting.
