Thought I would stop in and say HI
Wow its been a long time since I was in here! The activity is wonderful! I can't believe we have so many new people in here.
BTW, my name is Amy I live in Jonesboro. I had the lap band almost three years ago. I have had complications and looking into a revision. It has been difficult to say the least. I look forward to getting to know all of you very soon!

Ditto what AB said. I can do some sugar. I dump on weird freak things, but I will say my sweet tooth was removed when I had RNY. I find that Crystal Light is too sweet most of the time. I dump on weird freak things, but mostly when I eat too fast or after I know I don't need anymore. I also don't have all the classic signs of dumping. (I have only dumped like twice) I feel like crap but mainly I get a weird feeling inside, wish I could puke and get tired.

Welcome. I am Carla and I am from Hackett. I had RYN back in Nov. I made the decision when I had my surgery not to find out if I dum*****t. I stay away from it and have it in my head that I will dump. SO Being nearly 9 months out I still don't know if I dum*****t. I will not test the waters. I do not want to know.
Good luck to you.
Good luck to you.
Wow thats awesome. I just really hope I didn't come across as only wanting the revision so I will dump if I eat sugar. I have had so many problems with the band. It has been a nightmare from day one. I do know what you mean though. I know that some things will get stuck with the band and I won't eat them. I can't risk getting stuck or having the repercussions that go along with eating something that could be potentially risky. I know that if it will happen or even the possibility of it could happen, it will be a big enough deterant for me.
Hi and welcome back!
I've chosen to eliminate as much sugar as possible out of my diet. I eat what I want within reason, but always choose the lowest sugar counts I can get (even on things like BBQ sauce, etc). I always buy sugar free if I can get it, no sugar added if I can't.
I subscribe to the belief that sugar really is addictive. So I limit it in my diet and find that I don't really want it. The things I eat with ANY sugar what-so-ever in them taste really sweet to me.
If you eliminate it from your diet in your immediate post-op RNY and never let it back in, it won't be a problem for you (whether you dum*****t). You just have to never "test the waters" with sugar.
