Question of the day!

Hi Amy,
As a customer, you really shouldn't see much, if any impact early on.   Your plan will stay in place and the only real difference should be in name only.  Verizon and Alltel use the same technology, so your handset will still work fine.  Verizon's customer service is better than most and with adding our network to theirs, will offer about the best coverage of any provider.   You just won't be supported by the good local Arkansas corporate folks as in the past.
Thanks
Steve

Shawna,
Thanks for getting the thread going, life here is crazy, I am sick and just havent been up to posting, much less thinking of questions and answers, so a huge THANK YOU!!!

Now, to answer the question, If I could have any job I want, Id do the job I'll be doing the end of this month, just w/more money and benefits.  I am going to work for CASA, (Court Appointed Special Advocates)  I will go to court as an advocate for physically and sexually abused and neglected children.  My main focus is to recruit volunteers to monitor these cases and make recommendations based on their observations of the children and their surroundings.  I feel very passionately about all of this, but sadly, I will just make peanuts.  But, all in all, I guess I'll be in my ideal job, just need more money and better benefits.

The only other job I would want would be to work in an office all day, typing and doing data entry and making mega mega money, lol.  Or maybe Id manage a huge Tennessee Walking Horse Ranch and ride alllll day long!!!  Yeah, that sounds like the true dream job!!!

Thanks for the question, feel free to help anytime!!
Hugs,
Rhonda D. who doesnt know what she really wants to be when she grows up!!!

No prob! It took me half a day to come up with the one that I did simple as it was! What a passion! I get too emotionally involved to do public work of that nature. When I was in college, I worked in an after school program that also did a summer program. I loved it...I loved MY kids!!! My sister manages the office of the company and just yesterday I was asking her about one of my favorite kids of all time. He was in my group, first grade, the last summer I worked the program. He was in foster care, but I didn't much like his foster parents. I was so happy I cried when his grandpa got custody of him, bur sadly, he quit attending the program after that. He reminded me of the little boy off of Jerry Maguire and most people could hardly understand a word he said but I would have adopted that boy in an instance if I could. I am glad he got to go live with his grandpa as I know they were good people. How anyone could drop their child off at school and leave them there with no intentions of going and getting them after school is beyond me. okay, sorry, i went off on a tangent, but I think about that little boy a couple of times a year. I wish I knew that he was doing well.

Rhonda,
My daughter got to do something like that for her field work for her Masters in Social Work.  She was able to evaluate people to see if they were fit enough to keep their children.  She's very good at this ...She's now a graduate with dual Masters degrees in Social work and looking for a job.

I'd want to be the one to tell people they won something - I really don't care what.  I'd just want to make people's day all day long.

I would like to volunteer to be your first customer.  In fact, I would even be a repeat customer, so you need to land this job.

Shawna:  My immediate boss or company is LeFlore Title in Poteau, but our broker is Continental Land Co. out of Edmond, Okla. (where I'm having my surgery, hopefully one day), and the oil company were are doing the title work and leasing is Cheasapeake out of Oklahoma City.  It is a HUGE company.  The bought like a 1 mile square piece of land in Nichols Hills, which is the first mega rich section of Oklahoma City.  They tore down all the businesses and are constantly building 4 story, colonial type office buildings.  Would love to be able to work directly for them.  They even give bonuses to people if they order healthy lunches from their own cafeteria.  They have a computer you order from and it keeps up with a point system depending on what they order.  Every quarter and one a year, if you have enough points, you get a wellness bonus.

Oh yes, I know Chk. We drill with them frequently! They are very big, however, it chaps their @$$ that we are the #1 player in the Fayetteville Shale (Desoto). I have to laugh at them in an evil voice since they are always trying to one up us However, if I ever move back to Oklahoma, that'll be the first place I go job hunting. They are very good to their employees and they really are a good company.
