Stressing
So I am just writing this to vent for a second. As most of you know, my husband is in the process of getting approved for RNY. He is tentatively scheduled for 8/13...you got it, 2 weeks from today! This is very exciting and he is (or was) very excited. There are very few people who know about his decision outside of our WLS friends (read: I don't have many people to discuss these issues with). He doesn't want to catch any flack and he really just wants to suprise the people that he doesn't see frequently. Fine by me...many people, including his family, don't know about mine!
ANYWAYS....all of that for this. His process has been a very quick one as he decided to persue this in June! Well he went and got all of his testing done ASAP. His psych eval and upper GI had to be schedueld. As life goes, the psych appointment was like 2 weeks later than everything else. No big deal, right? The whole freakin visit is taking tests on a computer. I would think "print" and sticking it on the fax machine would be the extent of getting the paperwork over. We were planning to submit Monday, Tuesday at the latest. Here we are on Wednesday and they are still waiting on the report from the psych office. I took matters into my own hands (as I tend to do) and called their office myself. The lady that answered the phone said it could take up to 7 days...umm that's today. Then she said that it could take as long as Friday which would be 9 days. THEN they have to submit to insurance. Insurance only took a few days to come back with an approval so we are hoping for that with his, but if they have to wait to submit until Monday, they won't get an answer until maybe even Friday and then he's supposed to have surgery the next Wednesday? wtf?!?!?!
It's going to take 2 days for the money to be available once he's approved(we pay for about 80% of RNY with my insurance) and this is just totally stressing me out. Johnny is already stressed out about it. I could tell by the way he was acting last night and then I finally got him to tell me what was bothering him. I can't let him know how stressed I am because I'm supposed to be telling him that it'll all work out.
You may be asking why the rush and I'll tell you. He goes back to school August 25. He said if he doesn't have surgery by the 13th, he's not screwing with it until he's out of school. December 2009!!!!! Please say a little prayer, swing chickens, rub the belly....whatever you do. Thanks guys!

Sorry your getting such poor "customer service" (is that an oxymoron?) , but it seems to be getting to be the norm these days. I hope everything works out for the scheduled date. you stay on top of the Psych and Insurance and I'll lift up a prayer. I don't have any chickens to swing and getting less of a belly to rub. Good Luck.

You are doing great and I know you can't wait for him to join you on the losers bench. Just think how much easier and cheaper meals will be. You know MY John hasn't had surgery but he has been losing weight since my surgery. We read all labels and buy much healthier food. SO he is benefiting also. It just mkaes it easier when you do it together.
Good luck and keep us posted.
