Hi Robyn.. your lucky it only last 2 hrs.. yes Letha is very very nice,, thats who i had to go see when i had to go get my food .. well i use to like the chicken marinara and omg today i almost threw it up,, couldnt handle it.. the beef with noodles is horrible too.. and i used all my cream of chicken soup up.. so now just the candy bars,, and cheesecake and choc shakes or pudding and lemon pudding.. i can handle that.. plus at night i eat a sugar free popsickle lol.. they are pretty good too. I know i told ya that before, lol.. i get hungry some and then it goes away i never eat breakfast so i dont start to eat till around noon,, now ive lost 12 lbs on it in 1 weeks so thats pretty good i think.. glad that u can use your friends diet,, what kind is it or is it the same stuff?? Well ty so much for the prayers.. Ill say mine for you also before i go in.. wont be thinking right after will be so nervous plus.. doped up lol.. does your hubby smoke?? I quit in beginning of may,, or else no op.. my hubby still does tho and it doesnt bother me at all now it did at first tho..I know he will be in and out during the day lol.. did u see the respitory lady and also the physical therapist too when u were in the meeting?? well God Bless and gl.. talk to you soon.. lyn
yes I saw them too,No Wade doesn't smoke, he dips, He can get away with doing it inside. I have only lost 6pds so far. but i was only 1/4 of a pound up since my appt in May, I had been eating non stop since i was approved for surgery, i'm talking a sonic hamburger for breakfast.so i had probably put on 5-7 pds. How much do you weigh now and what is your goal? i weigh 211.4 and hope to get to 125, which is 86.4 pds. I have been putting choc shakes in blender with ice, so its super cold and more tolerable, the peanut crunch bar isn't to bad, the stuff my friend had is the same stuff, came from dr. jones office. this is my first day on the food from them, i have been on clears since monday. did you spice up the soup or eat it like it is from box? mrs. brown said you add some tobasco and it would be better, i might try it tonight. do you work outside the home? I work at edward jones investments here in forrest city .
forgot to tell you,, they never told me when i had to come back or nothing like u said,, i guess they will on day of surgery.. they did say tho i might have to stay an extra night tho.. so the night before ill be glad to get a room there so we dont have to drive that early we would have to leave here at 3 in the morn.. toooo darn early... lol.. lyn
Hi Robyn,, I loved the chicken soup but make sure its hot so that it all melts.. no i put nothing in it esp.. hot stuff lol.. I would die dont like it.. Im allergic to peanuts and what do I get a bar with the peanuts on it.. lol.. ive been eating them tho and i do get sick to my stomach.. wow u dont weight that much add 100 to what u are and thats me.. if i get down to 180 ill be happy.. i can carry that fine and would only wear a 14 or 12,, the way im built i guess.. lol.. ya your hubby can get away with chew.. or dip.. mine has to go outside to the cemetary or accross the st.. but he loves to excersise so he doesnt care.. he walks 6 mi a day or rides the bike we have with a chair type seat,, which i bought for myself and cant do it with my knee.. but soon i hope.. i do walk around our pool tho 20 times a day and have for the last 2 weeks so thats prob helping too.. tc.. lyn
Wow!!! I think I would have had a rough time with that too. They say that you are only hungry for the first three days when on a fast. But I do know that if you drink lots of fluid it will help keep your tummy feeling full too. There's lots of options. Beef broth or chicken broth, jello and more jello, sugar free popsicles, just keep your eye on the goal. It will be so easy after your surgery you will be amazed. Then you will have to make yourself eat, I swear. You can do this! Just shout out when you need reenforcement! Good luck.
I have to say the clear liquid part is tough. I do suggest you drink protein water if you can stand it. It will help you feel some fullness and keep you from getting weak. You will survive though! As for the time before your first fill, that's the time I'm in now, I get my first fill next Tuesday and I have to say, I rarely get actual hunger. But I try to keep my protein way up between 60-80 or more grams. Only the old head hunger ever bothers me any, but that's not bad either. Not like before the surgery. Kelley
I had to do a 4 week liquid diet before my gastric bypass. Just remind yourself that the liquid diet is only a small part of a bigger picture. Sticking to your liquid diet prepares you for sticking with your new eating lifestyle after your surgery.
For me the first few days I was excited, starting my liquid diet and realizing that having the weightloss surgery was really going to happen to me, and then I got bored, shake after shake after shake after liquid after liquid, while watching my roomie eating. But I kept a strong head about it and just reminded myself of the bigger picture.
After about a week it was daily routine for me. If I felt hungry for food, I drank something.
You are probably hungry because in your head your thinking about how you can't eat food right now. Think of something else, when you get to feeling hungry do something, like walk, or go outside or do some crafts, and everytime you feel hungry do that. It helped me out a lot.
