Moved to Ar. and in need of a new Dr.

Moved here two weeks ago and called Dr. Coleman's office and was told he wouldn't see me that I would have to go to a regular dr.Well I just had my surgery April 29th and feel that I need a bariatric dr who knows what to do with me instead of a family physician.So disappointed in Dr. Coleman after hearing he was a great dr.So Now what do I do? Need some suggestions.....also ,Where are the Fort smith group meetings held?                                                                                          Thanks,                                                                                                Tina

I would also suggest Dr. Roller. He is an excellent dr. THe support group meetings are held at his office. There are none here in Fort Smith. SO we go up there. His office is in Springdale. Office number is 479 757-3174 Give him a call, Hope he can help.

Being one of Dr. Roller's patients...I suggest that you call your surgeon who did you surgery and gather all you medical records of everything he did before, during and after your surgery so that you can have them to present to Dr. Roller....he will ask you for those anyway so it would be easier to go ahead and get them together now...He is a AWESOME surgeon and his staff is WONDERFUL as well... I hope you are doing well with the surgery... As for the support group meetings...they are very informative and there are a lot of supportive people and very educational...I hope to see you there... Try Dr. Roller.  He's the closest I believe plus he is really great.  They have wonderful post-op follow-up care.  I don't think Dr. Coleman does any follow-up for post bypass.

Just wanted to say thank you for the suggestion.I am only 8-9 wks out and i only want the same aftercare here that i would have received if i hadn't of moved from ky.I honestly didn't think getting a new dr would be this hard.

Did you have your doctor there call and try and refer you here and send  you records himself? Wondering if that might make a difference. AB

Dr. Roller in Springdale is worth the one hour drive. He probably needs your records from your old doc. Welcome to Arkansas.  I love it here...

I go to Dr. Roller's meetings in Springdale.  You would be welcome. I went to one meeting in Fort Smith at the public library and I wasn't impressed.
