Home now and doing well!

Hi there, Sorry I haven't posted here yet. I got home Friday morning and have been busy, sleeping, visiting with the family, sleeping, sipping, walking, and more sleeping. The liquid vicodin KNOCKS me out but I am only taking it at night now. I am feeling pretty good. I am not hungry at all but the food smells at dinner time are so delicious! The funny thing is that it's kind of satisfying to just smell it right now for some reason. I went in on Wed morning right after Sybul and had an uneventful surgery for my VSG. I remember waking up in a lot of pain in recovery but they pumped up the lovely drugs and the next thing I knew I was being wheeled into my room. Shawna came to visit on Wed night and kept me company after my hubby left - that was so nice. Sorry to be falling asleep on ya'. The leak test on Thursday was the worst part but all in all the recovery has been pretty good. I did get a chance to see Sybul on Thursday on one of my walks and she was looking pretty good! Sybul - so glad to hear your home and doing well. The fluids are finally starting to drain off today and I am feeling much better and getting all my protein/water in. Tomorrow I am going to go walk a bit at the Mall and drool over clothes at the Black and White Store. Someday soon!!! Hope to see some of you Tuesday at the support meeting! Tammy

Hi Tammy,  glad to hear from you.  I am glad you are doing well too.  I'm just sipping and walking too.  Right now the worse pain I have is my calves from walking, lol.  I have been having my hubby put biofreeze on them for me.  I'm only up to 1/4 mile (the length of my driveway) so far but it's a lot farther than I was walking before.  I don't know how I'll get up to a mile a day by my post op visit, lol.

No worries about being sleepy. I tried to stay awake to entertain my sister when she visited me(more liek acme to babysit me!) and I would fall asleep and wake up realizing I ahd fallen asleep mid-sentence and try to resume conversation. I know it was amusing for her!!! She would tell me it was okay to go back to sleep and I would pass out smooth until someone came in to do vitals or ***** and poke!  Glad you are home and doing well! Don't forget we ahve support group tomorrow night!
