Grapes!!!!
Hey guys,
Just wanted to post this warning. I see where some of our newbies are eating grapes, and this can be a bad thing. Here is the deal....
Grapes have skins, and when we chew, even though we chew and chew, we still cannot process the grape skins like we need to. Beware of grapes, the skin**** our pouch, and can pack up and form a blockage by covering the outlet of our pouch. Had a friend that was eating grapes, 10 or so a day, and never thought anything about it, then one day couldnt keep anything down and was having excruciating pain. She went to Dr. Baker, and he ended up going down her throat and removing grape skins from her pouch w/a suction tool.
So just beware, if I eat grapes, even this far out, 16 months, I freeze them and then peel them. Not easy, but makes my grape eating much safer.
Good luck, just didnt want anyone to go thru what Lisa did.
Hugs,
Rhonda D.
I haven't had any, but I would have no clue that there would be a problem!! Thanks for the warning. There was a fruit tray at my sister's baby shower Thursday and I had one of everything except the grapes and oranges(for no particular reason). I guess that was a good thing! My obsession with fruit now-a-days mainly consists of strawberrie and pineapples. I can't get enough of them!
