I am a newbie, well, 2 months out, but...... One thing I keep trying to tell myself is, that when I come on her looking for answers it terrifies me there aren't a LOT of people over 2 years out.  Then I remember about 11 months ago, I had a hystorectomy, I joined the hystersister boardd.......  I lived on there for many months, day and night.......  looking for answers.  I saw a post the other day about that website and thought, "you know I haven't been to that website in over 8 months"........  why?  I am stable about where I should be and what is going on.  Of course it isn't a lot like the lap band, but I was terrified just the same.  I saw posts on there that wanted me to change my mind about having a hystorectomy, there were other options, but had I chosen those it wouldn't have been a concrete fix, in that it might not work.  Their board was similar to this, lots of disappointments, lots of encouragement, and lots of "it's the best thing I ever did".
What I'm trying to say to newbies, is that, we all have questions...... sometimes that can be overwhelming to a newcomer or someone contemplating the surgery........ but just because there aren't a lot of people that are beyond the 2 and 3 year mark or longer, is because they have learned most of what they need.  There are a few angels that check in around and help all of us out, but the rest are out enjoying thier new found life and living it up!!!!!  We will be there soon, and I can almost guarentee 1/2 of us will not live day and night on these boards the way we do now........ Of course there are some, that will keep checking in (I hope I am ) to help everyone else along this scary journey....... We love them for that..... We appreciate them for that..... Without them, these boards wouldn't contiue to grow..........
So let's hear it for the VETS!!!!!  Let's hear it for those who make a difference and lift our spirits when they are low!!!!  When we think we can not do this anymore, or wonder what we have we done.........
HOOOORRRRAAAYYYYYY VETS!!!!!!!!!!!  THANK YOU FOR STICKING AROUND THANK YOU FOR HOLDING OUR HAND!!!!
WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!

PLEASE TELL A VET TODAY YOU APPRECIATE THEM!!!!!

I agree wholeheartedly. Without the wonderful vets, I don't think I would've made it through the last month. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really glad you posted this...I was just thinking the same thing the other day!  So, I want to Thank you ALL for sticking around to answer the "same 'ole, same 'ole" questions day in & day out.  Your support and encouragement, not to mention your example, should be applauded   I'm sure many days it must be discouraging or boring to read some of our posts but we, the newbies, couldn't have made this far without you.  Thank you Jamie

Thats why we are here, to help support cheer on and get encouragement ourselves.  You guys mean as much to us as you say we do to you.  It keeps us going knowing that you are taking charge of your lives and choosing to live longer and healthier.   Know that we are here to help any time you need us.  We may not be here ALL the time, but trust me, we are checking in, and trying to help. Hugs and support, Rhonda D.
