Back from vacation

Wish I could say I went somewhere exotic and awesome but really I just stayed home and cleaned my house! How awesome is that! I refused to get on a computer, would not check my email and did really even answer the phone that much to be honest. I cooked for my family each night, and just enjoyed being an at home Mom for brief few days. Oh well, back to work in the morning. I start my summer school class on Wednesday and then I'll be full swing back into the craziness of life once again. One more academic year and I'll be finished with the course work for my doctorate - too close to stop pushing now!!!

I tried to diligently count calories this week - something I have been very lax in doing. Discovered that I'm eating around 1200-1400 daily. Not sure how that lines up with where I'm suppose to be right now. I go back for my one year check up next week (june 4) so I'll talk to Dr. Gibbs about it then.

I was very brave this week and wore a sleevless shirt - yes ladies that's what I said - SLEEVELESS!!! I haven't done that since I was a little girl. My arms are still pretty flappy but I did it anyway.

Well nothing really major to report - just wanted to check in to let you all know that I'm alive and kicking - take care! AT

Angie, Isnt it nice to have a semi normal week now and then.  I know you are proud to only have one more year.  What are you gonna be when you grow up?? I got a new job, doesnt actually start paying till August, but it feels great to be going back to work.  I'll be working for CASA in Ouachita County.  (Court Appointed Special Advocates)  We recruit volunteers to go to court to be a childs voice in court for abused and neglected children.  They are the reccomendation for the children in court.  Does the child need to be in foster care, back in the home, etc.  Very heart breaking but rewarding job. I start doing some training in the morning, but no pay till August.   Sleeveless shirt, you go girl.  Very liberating feeling isnt it?? I wore a  spaghetti strap shelf bra athletic shirt today, and friends today told me (very lovingly) that I was dressing like an all out "hoochie mama!!!!"  Makes me laugh, they so support me, flappy arms and all. So nice to see your smiling face first thing this morning   Your vacation sounds like just the ticket for a busy mom.  What restraint to stay off the computer though. 1200-1400 calories is pretty good considering where you are in your time line.  JoBeth has me eating at least 1500 cals to maintain.  If that's what you're wanting to do, then I'd say you're ok in that department. Sleeveless shirt, huh?  I'm not that brave. My arms don't necessarily flap, the skin is just all wrinkly and looks like an old lady's, so I'm a 3/4 length girl.
