RNY post-op "Frito" Pie (YUMMMMMM)

Miss Frito Pie???  I did today.  I made WLS friendlier version.  6 tablespoons Hormel Chili w/ Beans 1 tablespoon 2% shredded cheddar cheese (I used Kroger generic.) 4 Blue Diamond Almond Nut-Thin Crisps in cheddar cheese flavor (They are YUMMMM and available at Kroger in the health food section.) Microwave the chili to HOT. Top with cheese & stir it up. You can use the crisps like chips & the chili/cheese mix like dip.  OR you can just pour the chili/cheese mixture over the crisps like frito pie. It makes a little over 1/2 cup. 170 calories 5.75 fat 18.88 net carbs 8.13 protein 30.44% calories from fat (It's the cheese y'all.)

Ok, sorry to be weird, but Frito Pie???  Guess it's one of those things that this California girl hasn't heard of....like chicken spaghetti.  Whatever, it sounds good. Glad to see you experimenting on different foods.  Had pintos and cheese for a snack yesterday, thought of you

Let me tell ya....Frito Chili Pie!!!^*&^)#*@&%^
The old way is to use frito chips in a bowl or plate, pour chili over that (hot), then lots of cheese and if you like onions, add them and I like a squirt of ketchup on mine.
These days I make mine with Wendys chili and Monterey Jack cheese and then I add onions. I'd love the fritos BUT only on RARE occasion do I even nibble on them.

I love Frito Pie and have had it a twice  post op, but I will admit that I didn't cut very many corners in making it LOL.  Used Fritos, used can chili and shredded cheese.  I also like to add tomatoes and onions to mine. But it was oh so good.
