Slept thru breakfast, had coffee till 10:45, then Mike cooked pasta and cheese and ham for brunch.  Had about a cup of that.  Not the healthiest thing, but the rest of the day will be better.  Later today we are gonna have tilapia fillets cooked on the flat iron skillet and maybe some greens.  For dinner tonight, maybe more tilapia, or maybe just some chilli, depends on how late we fish.  Gonna get in lots and lots of U/S tea and crystal lite today.  Gonna be a good day, gonna catch some pishes!!!!  Spend some time w/nature, and then do some walking and stuff when I get home!!! So, whats everyone else eating?

Hey Karen, Wendy said she was starting to feel like the two of you were the only ones to post anymore, so I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.  Sorry, just busy with things outside of the  computer, but I promise to try and be better! I'm FINALLY able to eat better.  Since surgery I've had a heck of a time, but I haven't  for about four days now.  It's the little things in life that make us happy, right/ So, here's what I'm planning today, we'll see if things go well. Wake up:      latte Bkfst:         1/2 peanut butter and SF jelly sand on double fiber bread Lunch?      left overs;  2 oz steak, 1/2 sweet potato, 1/4 grilled onion Snack:      1/2 cup left over shrimp creole Dinner:      barbecue rib, 1/4 c coleslaw, sm ear corn snack?

Hey Susan! Its ok! We all have days where we get a little sidetracked! I know the weekends are the worse time for me! I am on the computer and running here and there all week and then when the weekend rolls around, sometimes I get so relaxed that I forget to turn on the computer! Good to know that you are starting to be able to keep stuff down better! Thats always a good sign! I was reading your meal and the grilled onion caught my eye! Ever since my Lap Band for some reason I have a hard time eating raw onion. It will go down but it makes me sick to my stomach most of the time. When the onions are cooked they don't bother me. When you say grilled onion, do you literally mean just a slice of onion grilled? Do you put any kind of seasoning on it? I would like to try it if you don't mind sharing how you fix it!  Take care and let me know!   Karen

Don't mind sharing a bit!   I take a big sweet onion, like a Vidalia and slice it in two.  Put it in a ziplock bag and pour in a healthy amount of Lite Balsamic vinegrette  dressing. I let it marinate for an hour or so, then just slap it on the grill when I put my meat/chicken/whatever on there.  You might need to cook yours a little more, maybe 5 minutes or so, but we like ours with a little crunch left. If the onion is really big, you might need to cut it into thirds, just eyeball it.   I always fly by the seat of my pants when it comes to cooking, so I rarely have recipes...LOL Hope you like them!
