Hey guys,  I need some help here.  I am really struggling at getting my fluids in like Im supposed to.  I can drink coffee in the mornings, and then my breakfast and then its like, crap, now I need to drink.  It tastes good, and it doesnt make me feel bad after I force it down, its just like, when I start to drink, I just dont want it. Today I tried some soy milk w/sugar free choc syrup.  It was ok, but hard to get it down.  Just wondered if anyone else struggled w/this?? Any suggestions are always appreciated, I dont want to dehydrate again, and I fear that is where Im headed. Off to bed, hugs to all, Rhonda D. the dry one!!!

I have no problem with my first liquid of the day (usually my coffee protein mix) but it seems like the rest of the day I am making myself drink.  Maybe it is the temp. of the liquids, I find that I have no trouble with warm or hot liquids, I seem to want to drink them more. Maybe your bored with your liquids to, I get easily bored of drinking the same thing, so I buy lots of drink mixes.  My roomie and I actually go to several different stores to buy drink mixes, we get the the majority of our flavors at Walgreens, then pick up a few boxes at Dollar Tree, Big Lots and also Wal Mart (every once in a while though cause I hate going there).  We keep about 60 or more packets at a time in a big giant container.  My roomie really drinks a lot of them.  He washes and reuses his powerade and gatorade bottles (the big ones).  Hope this helps and I am sure some others will chime in with some thoughts or ideas.

Rhonda, I haven't got my band yet, but talking w/ others that have had theirs a while, one thing that has been mentioned is that they don't like cold liquids anymore.  Drink water at room temp (is what they do).  Someone on OH shared a great strawberry  lemonade  recipe (much like Sonic cherry or strawberry limeade).    Hope you get liquified!!! CB from Arkansas Strawberry Lemonade
In a pitcher
Stir 3/4 to 1 cup of Granular Splenda and
1 small package dry sugarfree strawberry  (or cherry) jello into
1 cup boiling water

Stir till dissolved.  Add 6 cups cold water and 1 cup lemon juice (or try limes if you like).  Fresh is best I'm sure.  That's about 6  lemons. (Today I used the juice of 3 lemons and bottled lemon juice to make 1 cup...turned out just fine)

HMMMMMM,  Honey, I think this is one you're just going to have to work through.  It's not like you don't LIKE liquids, you just don't want them, right?  Maybe try making them an incentive to something you DO want.  For instance, I won't let myself have another latte until I drink a bottle of White Tea or Propel.  The latte is the reward for having gotten down some regular liquids.   I know how you like your coffee, so tell yourself you can't have another cup until you get down some water/crystal lite, etc. I know it's not much of a suggestion, but I'll keep thinking on it. Maybe we'll come up with something tomorrow night. Do you think you'll be able to come? Hugs to ya

Hey Rhonda,  I know how hard getting your liquids in can be.  This is what I do....I have several 32oz. cups, so two of those is 64oz of fluids.  When I fill a cup, I won't stop until I've drank the whole thing...I'll have on 32oz. cup of plain water and then a 32 oz. cup of crystal light, the lemonade is really good sweetened with splenda, even my hubby likes it.  So I know once I've had those two cups anything else is just extra, I usually get 80-90oz daily.  Like Susan said, don't let yourself have anything that you really want until that first 32-64oz of fluids are down.  I love my chocolate milk at night, but I won't let myself have it unless I've already had a minimum of 64oz.  I know it sounds crazy, but it works for me.  Sometimes I can drink 32oz. in about 20 minutes, other times it'll take an hour.  Is your coffee decaf?  Remember, caffeine will dehydrate you.  Unfortunately, there's no easy solution to this other than just making up your mind to do it everyday.  Some days, I don't eat dinner with the family because I haven't had my fluids, so I'll drink while they eat then eat my dinner later....again, it works for me.  Keep working on it, you MUST get those fluids girlfriend.  Hope this helps you some, I'll keep thinking on it along with Susan.  Let us know if we can help any other way!

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I need to get me a big ole glass like Denise said.  That way I will know Ive gotten what I need.  I think alot of it is being sick, but I KNOW I need my fluids sick or not.   The strawberry lemonade sounds good, may try some of that tonight.  I have about 10 different kinds of drink mix in my cabinet in the kitchen, but always gravitate back to the cherry and the strawberry.  Maybe Im a lil fruity!!!! Im working on it, any other suggestions are still welcome. Hugs, Rhonda, the one w/the drinking problem!!!
