One week till RNY
Congratulations and I completely remember the excited/nervous feeling as the date got closer. It's hard to even fathom the changes that you are going to have, but it is worth it. Even when that "Oh my gosh, what have I done" feeling hits, and it will I think we all have it, just remember that you made an educated choice and cling to the success that you know is coming.
Susan is right, the mental thing is not as easy. It is still a struggle every day to make the choices I know I need to make. Somedays I do better than others. I'll be 1 year post-op next Wednesday. It took 36 years for me to get where I was and I've only had 1 to re-learn. Give yourself some time - you're worth it! We're here for you when you need us! AT

I didn't freak out until I was about a week out of surgery. It hit. i wondered what in the world I had done to myself. I'll tell you what I did, the best thing I've ever done. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. My tip to you: when this happens, tell someone you're feeling this way. I sent out a post and my fears calmed down. use the tools that are there for you. Good luck and remember you're doing this to have a healthy, longer life!

WHEW! did all the pre-op stuff yesterday, Christy called today to say everything looked good and we are a definate go for Monday morning, 7:30am. I am really nervous, but keeping busy is helping. SOOOO much to do to get the life stuff in order so I can concentrate on recovery. I am very excited and I want to just sit down and cry at the same time. Dang I feel like a whiney baby.
Congrats on your upcoming surgery. Who is doing your surgery and where are you having it done at?
I had Open RNY 15 Aug 2007, my first pre-op appointment I weighed 400 lbs, on my surgery day I was 368 lbs after a 4 week liquid diet, and today I am 236 lbs. I am almost down to my 9th grade weight which was 220.
Feel free to join in on our posts! If you have any questions, ask away, that is what we are all here for. To get support and encouragement, and to give support and encouragement.

EDITED TO ADD, ignore my first question I didn't see you had said Dr Baker was doing your surgery. He is a good surgeon, he did mine.
