New to message board

Hello all!  Well I am new to the message board and even new to Arkansas.  I just moved to Hot Springs Village from big TX!!! I am one of the many reasons that they say "Everything is bigger in TX" but not for long. YEAH!!!!!!   After many years (7 total) I am working toward having the Lap Band.  I just completed all the run around required and am just waiting for the funds to come together.  I cant wait to join you all on the loosing team.  

Hi Anna! Welcome to the Arkansas board. I'm fairly new, too. I had lap-band seven days ago, after waiting six years!!! So, I kind of know how you feel! I hope you enjoy this board! Karen

Hi Anna Welcome to the board and welcome to AR!  I'm a transplant too, here three years this month from San Diego. Arkansas is a wonderful place to be.  We're very happy that we made the move. There are an increasing number of lap-band members joining us rny'ers, so between all of us you'll have all your bases covered. Good luck on your journey, we're here to help

Hi Anna! I'm glad you decided to join us on this journey as well as here in Arkansas! I had Lap-Band in June 2007. So far, I have lost about 110 pounds. Its is amazing! I know you will be thrilled with your results when you start your journey! Who are you planning on using for your surgery?   Karen

Nice to have you aboard. I also am a transplant. I am original from Calif also. BUt ihave been here 23 years now. I love it.

    Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome!!!   It is good to know that there are so many others who have walked this road before me.  I know this is a life long journey and I just cant wait to get started.  I have all my labs drawn tomarrow, yuk!  But I know this just brings me one step closer.  I am going to be using the Wellborn Clinic in Little Rock.  I saw there were quite a few others who have used him as well, but I have opted to have the surgery at Baptist is LR, as it was recognized as a "Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence".  He also operates at St.Vincents, but Baptist seemed like a more sensable choice.  I would love any thoughts you might have!  Thanks again for all the support.

I guess this is the day to join in.  Hello to everyone.  I've posted a comment here and there but never really introduced myself.  I've been reading for a while.  I will be banded on the 5th of June.  Can't wait!!!  Just wanted to mention that I'm here.  I may ask a lot of questions as I am still trying to get myself prepared.  I am a planner, but somehow I still usually end up surprised! Ha! It's nice to know what some of you are going through or have been through.  I haven't been discouraged at all.  As I said, "I can't wait!" cb

Welcome Aboard!!!  We are thrilled to have you both.  I was banded in LR by Dr Luttrell on March 31st.  I love it so far.  I will say to make sure you have a heating pad to help with the gas pain. Laying flat also helps.  Everyone is different, but these boards sure have helped me with questions and concerns.  My doc is great about answering calls and emails, so I feel blessed.  We are here for ya'll anytime, with any questions.
