Pissed Off & Upset
I worked as a CNA before I got sick with my lungs. I worked 7 years, and most of it was in the same nursing home. The last 2 years or so was 12 hour night shift, and we were often short handed and I would sometimes work 5 days straight.
I went to my regular Dr today and when I went to the pharmacy (walgreens) to pick up my new medicines, I talked to the girl behind the counter there, and I am going to go and put an application for pharmacy. She also said they will help me with training and all. My youngest sister works night shift stocking there and loves it and they have great benefits. I won't do night shift but I can do afternoon and evenings.
My mom brought up the idea of respite today but I don't drive and to be honest, it is just to hard. My mom has babysitted special needs teens that went to the same school as my sister that is severely profoundly cp and a host of other problems. She will be 21 this month and only functions at 6 months, and is total care. She doesn't walk, talk, feed herself or anything, but she does hold her own bottle and can crawl around on her knees and play with her toys, well just like a 6 month old.
Before surgery I would keep her for a few days a month to let my mom catch up on sleep, and it was hard on me, she would have constant seizures. I don't see how my mom does it.
