Have U Ever Asked..
Have you ever asked why we are so cold? It is in the 70's and I am still wearing a lightweight jacket!
I tried to wear my capris and my ankles got cold. Even in church, my legs stay cold. Now yes, it is getting better but, not that much better! I never thought I would ever be cold! Does anyone know (medically) why we stay so cold?
C'MONE SUMMER !!!!

WOW Rhonda! We must be mind readers or something! I was thinking of asking the same thing. Yesterday, my brother and I went for a two mile walk and it was a great day! We didn't break much of a sweat compared to what it would have been like when we were heavier. He has been dieting some since I have had Lap-Band. He wants to have it done but thought he would try to lose the weight on his own! He is doing a geat job by the way! Anyway, we were talking about how its weird to get chilly when you are so used to being hot all the time! He has a friend that had RNY a few years ago. He went from weighing like over 400 lbs. to weighing something like 170 lbs now. He said that before, when it was 70 degrees he would be in shorts and shorts sleeves and his clothes would be wet from sweat since he was so HOT! Now he says he gets so cold that he sometimes still wears a jacket when its around 70 degrees! Weird huh! I must confess though, I would much rather be COLD than HOT because its much easier to warm up than to cool off! Anyway, just thought that I would share that I was wondering the exact same thing as you! Great minds think alike I guess!! LOL!!

I was told it was because our livers weren't fatty anymore.
But if you just had your surgery recently, you could be more colder because of the blood thinners they gave you in the hospital. I stayed very very cold after my surgery, and was wearing a jacket outside and sleeping with multiple blankets, and I had surgery in the middle of august, when it was hotter than heck outside.

I'd rather be cold than sweating like a pig....that was for the days before rny. I think everyone is right, it's a combo of less insulation, lower BP and we're not lugging around extra weight to heat up our internal furnaces.
I've had to put one of those air vent thingys on the AC outlet by my work station 'cause I couldn't take the AC hitting me all day. Sometimes, in the summer, I go outside just to warm up!
AHHHHHHH what a life!

Isn't it strange how we change like that. I am always freezing. I tell my husband I am cold. He will look at the thermostat and say I am nuts its 73 in here. I tell him I don't care if it says 83 I am freezing. So I put on more clothes and bury ynder 3 blankets while is laying on top of them. I also keep a small blanket at work to cover my legs with. I keep the thermostat on heat and my boss starts complaining that I am trying to cook him. So I know keep it turned down and keep my blanket. But I can handle all this much better than all the extra weight.
