What was your favorite food pre-op, has it changed since surgery?  What tastes have changed for you, i.e.  things you used to not like that you do now, and what you liked before that you dont now???? Before surgery, my favorite single food was steak, and my favorite meal was chicken quesedillas (sp?? lol) It is all still my favorites but now I use whole wheat tortillas and low fat stuff instead of all the full fat. I have not noticed that I dont like things I used to, or like things I never have.  How about ya'll??Tastes change??? Hugs, Rhonda D.

I have yet to have to surgery but I thought I would pop in and say what my favorite foods are now.... and update it later after surgery my changes  . My favorite would have to be chicken fajitas and quesedillas. I'm not real big on icecream or sweets. (Bad hospital experience as a teenager) Terri Lynn

Oh WOW What a good question. My taste buds have definately changed! Pre-op my favorite food was Hamburgers, salads and fried fish! (not at the same time LOL). I loved hot fudge sundae with nuts from Shakeys!

Now my favorite food is probably beans, salads and pintos & cheese. Before WLS we would have steak a couple times a week and now, I only take about 3 bites and actually would rather have a bowl of beans. I keep peas & beans cooked at my house all the time because I love them. I have been a Meat eater all my life (thank goodness we own a meat market), since WLS I prefer not to have meat unless it is grilled burger. I don't crave sweets at all but I still have a addiction to pasta.....I have to be careful that the carb monster does'ne get me! I will fix spaghetti or lasagna for my family and I will have a slice of ham and a few bites of beans.
Great question RhondaD!!

I have always loved spaghetti! In fact it was the first thing I ever learned to cook from my Mamaw when I was about 9 years old. Since WLS the spaghetti noodles make me ill. I can eat other kinds of pasta with no problem but something about the thin spaghetti noodles and my pouch do not mix. So that is sad but on the up side I LOVE veggies now. I've never been too much of a veggie person - lettuce and green beans was pretty much it. Since WLS I have learned to love squash, cucumbers, cabbage, zucchini, onion, beans of all varieties (not just the refried ones) even broccoli for crying out loud. That has been amazing to me! AT

I loved cheeseburgers (made at home with ground sirloin) and tator tots (cooked in oven) but after surgery I hate makig cheeseburgers cause they are so good but I can only eat like 1/4 of it and can only eat like 2 tator tots.
