AFTER 1 YEAR
Just a Thank You for everyone who has helped to inspire me and keep me on track in the last year. I thought I would share some of the "WOW" moments I have had in my 1st year.
Being able to sit sideways in my chair at work!
Crossing my legs at church (without any effort)
Walking to the mailbox without using the golfcart!
Re-setting the auto chair setting in my truck (closer)
Walking by a mirror and not knowing who was in it!
Walking by a mirror at home and scaring myself b/cause I thought I was not alone!
Jumping on the trampoline again with the kids!
Bowling again without running outta energy
Skating, but still running outta energy! LOL
Being able to easily sit in a booth at a resturant
Soaking in the tub with plenty of room on both sides!
Looking down in the shower and not knowing whose leg was in there with me!
Having my rings fall off and finally having them re-sized
My church shoes flopped up and down...I realized they out-grew me! OMG my feet shrunk too!
Realizing "I actually have a neck!"
Climbing ontop of the house & not afraid of falling in!
Looking down and seeing my feet!
Having a regular size towel wrap all the way around me!
Sitting in my recliner and realizing there was room on both sides of me!
Going up the attic stairs and knowing they were not going to break
My kids arms fit all the way around me when they hug me...AWESOME
My youngest son can pick me up!
Laying in bed, folding my hands on my stomach and my elbos actually touch the bed..I lost inches!
Getting rid of all my extenders for my necklaces
Having someone tell me I actually look healthy!
Going clothes shopping for regular size clothes!
Going from a 20W to a 10P c'mone single digit sizes!
Sitting in a chair and feeling my butt bones!
Oh My, I actually have collar bones!
Having my OBGYN hugg me and tell me how proud he was of me!
I could sit here and keep adding to this list but you get the picture! I have had almost daily WOW's happen to me. There are so many, I can not remember them all!
I am so grateful for the support of you guys and my Family, and to Dr. Gibbs for believing in me and knowing I was worth it!
For you newbies, I would say YES! It is worth it! I had this surgery to be healthy and today, I can say I have achieved that goal! Everyday is a new journey and your attitude makes all the difference!
Huggs,
RhondaT

Your list truly inspires me. I am only three weeks post op but most of the things on your list are on my list of things I want to happen for myself. Your list is actually the first list I've seen with the thing about the towel going all the way around you. I wish that every time I take a shower. My daughter comes here, she is 30, and she will take a shower, then come strolling through the room with the towel wrapped around her and I am so jealous. But now, I just say to myself, in time, in time I will get there. Thank you for brightening my day!!

Rhonda! I think I have said it before, BUT just in case I haven't, YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION to me! I have some of the very same things on my list that are on yours. Some I have already accomplished less than a year after surgery and others I am still waiting to happen! It is such a remarkable journey with so many twists and turns! Take care and keep up the great work!

WOW! Rhonda, this is amazing! I'm only 1 month out from surgery and today I was feeling a little down because I've only lost 5 pounds since surgery and 1 pound since my 1st fill 10 days ago. I've lost a total of 20# but most of that was pre-diet lose. I try really hard not to let the numbers play with my head but I thought I would lose weight faster than this. I have another fill appt May 7th, hopefully, that will make a bigger difference for me. Your list of accomplishments have inspired me and lifted my spirit today. Thanks for reminding me why I had this surgery and for helping get through another day. I hope this time next year I can look back like you and feel grateful for doing this too! Jamie
