When is your post-op appointment?  Mine is not until next week and my first fill is another week after that!  Is that also your protocol?

Hey, I had mine on 4/1 and my post op was 4/15.  I wanted my fill on 4/21, but he was out of the office for this week, so I can't get a fill til 4/28....... exactly 4 weeks post op.   I talked to a couple of other Luttrels patients, they had thier fills at 3 weeks post op.  I have only lost 5 lbs since surgery......  I can't wait for my fill!!!!!

Thanks - that explains it!  I've lost NOTHING!  I haven't gained...but I haven't lost either...very frustrated at this point.  I wanted to get a fill before my preop and they wouldn't let me and the day after my preop - which is the 30th -- they were full.  So I will also be exactly 4 weeks.  I NEED some kind of restriction, but I got nothing!

He did my surgery on 4/8 and my post op appointment is 4/29.   How are your incisions?  Do these stitches dissolve or what?  One of my incisions is kind of indented and it was bleeding a little yesterday.  It's not bleeding today but the indention has been there for about a week now.   Are either of you going to the support group meeting Thursday night?

My incisions look ok.  However, I don't think I've lost all my stitches yet.  I have lots of red, itchy, irritated area around my incisions from the bandaids.

Hey Ya'll   I was banded  3/31/08 by Dr Luttrell...  I had to finally clip a few of my stitches with nail clippers. Don't pull them out, just clip them.   I got my first fill 3 wks post and feel great now,  can tell that I get full faster.  Am learning to catch that full feeling sooner,  I over eat a bit and feel it ,lol.  Best of luck to you all.  I have never been to a support meeting, do you feel like you get alot out of them?  My family is so very supportive, and my friend was banded the same day by Dr. Luttrell so we have been through it all together.  I hope to see you all around the office sometime!!!  Later

Hi guys,  I was banded by Dr Luttrell 3/25, got my 1st fill 4/14 (3 weeks out) and I'm scheduled already for my 2nd (on 5/7, they're booked until then).  And, I'm with most of you that I'm frustrated too!  I've lost approx. 5# since surgery and its frustrating when you can still eat and not have the restriction you thought you would get from having this surgery.  I have to admit I'm glad I didn't have the gastric bypass & I still feel this was the safest form of weight loss for me BUT I'm not losing, not gaining, and not seeing much difference.  I can't eat alot of dense foods like cake, brownies, cornbread or begals without getting that stopped up feeling that hurts for several minutes so now those foods don't appeal to me after those types of episodes.  I just read Rhonda's list of gratitudes, it was very uplifting to hear that even though it seems slow, we will be just like Rhonda in year with our own lists of "I can't believe" this past year experiences.  We are going to get there together!  I'm going to do my best to be there tonight @ Dr. Luttrell's support group meeting; I hope to meet you all there!  I definitely feel I could use some support in this area and with my concerns. --Jamie

I'm doxiemama's husband and I finally decided to post something..  Anyhow, my stitches are very slowly working their way out. I had my first fill on 4/14 as well, and I just called Erin and got a second scheduled on 5/7. I can feel restriction and I am eating a lot less, but the past couple of days I am eating more than I could before. I am down according to our scales 38lbs since 3/5, which was my first day on the pre-op diet. So far I am feeling good, and trying to walk at least a mile 6 days a week. Has anyone noticed bread is painful, and certain types of lettuce arent very pleasant either? I have 4cc now, but its not my sweet spot yet!
