I have this cookbook and suggest everyone get it. Most cookbooks are not weight loss surgery freindly. But this one is...... "EATING WELL AFTER WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY" by PATT LEVINE AND MICHELLE BONTEMPO-SARAY. In this cookbook it gives measurements for RNY, LAP and BPD-DS (biliopancreatic diversion duodenal switch).  Not only does it give the serving size for each procedure it also says if you need to avoid it and also the changes in servings at various weeks after the procedures.  Nutritional content is noted for the recipes too. I think I got it from AMAZON and paid maybe 20 bucks for it.  This is just my opinion on the book. As I am trying to get back to basics I find it very helpful. have a good day

I actually have this cookbook.....somewhere. Bought it before my surgery and never used it. I'm bad. Maybe I go find it and see what I can cook.  That is, when I'm able to eat again,,...LOL

The book sounds interesting! I might give it a try! When you say Lap, do you mean Lap RNY or Lap Band? Just curious!

I'm really thinking about buying that book World's Healthiest Foods.  Some people buy it for a "diet book" but it's really more about WHICH foods are the healthiest, WHY each specific food is healthy and HOW to cook the food to keep the healthy parts of it intact.  It goes with that website www.whfoods.org which I like because it goes into such detail about which foods have what vitamins/minerals/nutrients in them naturally.  (http://www.whfoods.org/foodstoc.php is the list and you can just click on a particular food to figure out why it made the list, why it's good for you, etc).   But I've been thinking about that Patt Levine book too.  I've seen it at Books A Million (but usually end up buying my books from amazon or ebay).   I've bought some GREAT crock-pot cookbooks (and a crockpot) before my surgery because I DO NOT COOK HARDLY EVER and figured that was the closest I would come to actually making a meal for my family.  LOL!  But I never used them.  So I am hesitant to buy ANY cookbook now.  But I'm glad to know that Patt Levine one is good in case I do decide to buy another one!
