I'm home
Susan
You know that you are in my thoughts and I will be hoping that you are feeling better soon.
If they removed a foot of bowel, how are you absorbing MORE? Wouldn't a removal of a portion of bowel cause you to absorb LESS? I thought I understood, but now I am confused.
Is this like recovery from RNY where the more you move the better the soreness gets? Or is this so much worse than soreness and not the kind of pain that gets better with movement? Or can you even really move? I don't remember if I asked you that yesterday!
Feel better soon!

You know it's hard to understand anything technical when your strung out on drugs I might not have understood everything he told me, or maybe I couldn't explain it very well, but I understand what you're saying.
I think we're talking about different areas of the bowel, the part that doesn't function anymore and the part that does. Hell, I don't know.
I'm going to call Carrie tomorrow and maybe she can explain it to me so I can understand and I'll let you know.

I've actually gone 5 hours without pain meds. I have such a horrible time with the constipation it causes the sooner I can get off of them the better. When it's time for bed I'll take my sleeping pills and that will put me out enough so I won't move around in my sleep.
Doing this full liquid diet post op from my rny was no big deal because I wasn't hungry. Now I'm starving and can't have anything solid. This is the pits!!! Oh, another thing? When I weighed myself yesterday when I got home I was at 133!!!!! I know it's all fluids, but what a laugh! I'm down to 127 today. Wonder what I'll really be at by the end of the week. I'm scared, no, really, I'm scared.
Wonder what ol' JoBeth would say about this?
