Howdy Folks!!! I'm looking to find a local support group or at the least where they might be at statewide. Or if there is enough local folks maybe seeing what we can do to get one going. Terri Lynn

Hi! I know what you mean about wanting to find a support group. I know that Dr. Baker and Dr. Gibbs patients meet in Little Rock. Not sure about the location or the times and dates of meeting for them because I use Dr. Wellborn. Dr. Wellbron's patients meet at St. Vincent's in Little Rock on a monthly basis. You can check his website for a meeting calendar at arkansasobesitysurgery.com if you are interested in attending any of his seminars or support group meetings.  Like you, I was kind of interested in starting a support group in my area for people who find it difficult to get to Little Rock. I live in Lexa which is near Helena right beside the Mississippi River over in Eastern Arkansas. It is a good two hour drive for me to get to Little Rock and then I have to turn around and spend another two hours getting back home. It gets to be costly. I am trying to find people in my area who are interested in maybe starting one. So far, I have come up empty handed.  I noticed that your profile says you live in Lincoln. Where exactly is Lincoln?   Karen

Well...Yes ma'am! I would love to. The first support group meeting I attended didn't have many people, but his practice is growing at an unimaginable rate so it wouldn't suprise me if there wasn't a place to sit this time!

Okay to answer a question and ask a few. Karen, Lincoln is a blink town :) on the east side border of the state about 20 miles east of Fayetteville. I call it a blink town cause if you blink you in Oklahoma before you know it. But I grew up in Elkins, AR Most of my mother's family is in that area. Now question... is there a support meeting of a sort being given by Dr. Rollers? If so can I get a time on that and maybe a number to call for more info? Since I'm having to to LR for the surgery part I'd like to find a support group close to home. Terri Lynn

I know where Lincoln is and I live in Elkins! Dr.Roller's support group meeting is Tuesday, April 22 @ 6:30 in the lobby of his clinic. Jones Tower first floor. It has it's own entrance on the side of the building...I would recommend trying to find a parking spot near the radiology/admissions signs and walking to the Jones tower because the parking deck is closed off currently. The radiology/admissions lot should be clearing out by 6:30. If you are facing admissions, turn all the way to the left and there is Dr.Roller's clinic! Sorry if you already know this and I am blabbering. As for a phone number, I can't remember. Anne, the nutritionist, "hosts" the event so you may want to ask to talk to her.
