Food Amounts

I have been reading posts and I saw that someone post op eats 2 tablespoons in 30 minutes. Is that right. Can you tell me how it is possible to take 30-45 minutes to eat 2 tablespoons of food even with a baby spoon. I am not trying to be a smart-alek, I just don't understand how it is possible.

Well, to be honest, it's really hard!  I used a candle warmer to put my plate on at first, otherwise the food gets cold. Early out it's very important that you take it slowly because your new pouch is so delicate, then, as time goes on, you have retrained yourself to stop "shoveling" food the way most of us have done for so long before WLS. Think of your pouch as a funnel. You know if you put too much into it it will spill over? It's a similar concept with the pouch, if you eat too fast it will cause a lot of discomfort and sometimes things will come back up!  Not good, believe me! Valid question....not smart alecky at all.

I will be two weeks out this wednesday. It is hard to make two tablespoons last at least thirty minutes. But I'm learning. I take a small bite, put my baby spoon down for about four to five minutes, then take another bite. I can make a poached egg last about thirty five minutes. Oh, and Susan, good idea about the candle warmer. I was wondering how to keep my food warm that long. Cold poached egg is not good...lol. I will have to get me one of those candle warmers. Thanks.
