fills
help, i had lapband surg. with dr. gibbs in at baptish health center on 2/11. i have had one fill and at that time, he told me it was 'POLICY' to only put in 1cc at a time for each fill. i have a 12 cc band. has anyone used dr. gibbs and did he tell you all the same thing. im getting inforamtion from others saying he is just trying to make money off of me since it will take a long time to find my sweet spot at 1cc at a time. others are saying its the most riducoulous thing they have heard on different forums. thank bjr
Hey Brenda! Sorry I can't be of more help to you but I just wanted to let you know that I have read your question and wish I could help more. As you know, I used Dr. Wellborn. He does things differently. I do think that on my first fill or two it was a very small amount put in. Its been a while and I can't really remember. After that though, when I go in for a fill, they give me a cup of water. When they start adjusting on my band, they ask me to take sips and tell them when it feels like the water stops when it goes down. I do this several times until my band is at the spot where they think it needs to be. Do you have to do anything like this? I think that every time I have been in (since the first fill), they have put at least 2cc in and sometimes more than that. I have never had problems with the band being too tight. I'm not really sure why you can only have 1cc at a time. Anyway, just wanted to try to help you out a little. Let us know how everything turns out!
