Sweet Deal on a Tanita Scale

Over the weekend, I stumbled onto a great deal on a Tanita Scale (Ironman Model BC552 ) on sale for $39.99 on drugstore.com (shipping = $5.99).  It's normally $129!!  I read many on-line reviews of this model and it got great reviews.  It's scheduled to be here tomorrow.  Yeah!

I've always wondered how accurate these scales really are.  I mean - I know NOTHING about them - but how can it really KNOW what percentage is water as opposed to fat as opposed to muscle? 

Actually, I wonder the same thing as well.  I'm primarily buying the scale for weighing only, I wanted a reliable scale for tracking my weight and Tanita scales had good reviews.  This scale does have a lot of bells and whistles that I'm not going to be relying on to give an accurate read.  I think it will do for accurate weighing...we'll see, it is scheduled to be delivered today.  Regards.

Let us know how it does.   Maybe there is some scientific or mathmatical method it uses to differentiate between water/fat/muscle.  I just can't imagine what it is.  But some people swear by them.  If I knew that all of that worked accurately, I'd have one too! 

Hi, I have a really great scale myself.  I bought it a few years ago at Lowes. I didn't even know at that time  you could buy a scale for your home that would weigh someone who is over the max on normal dr scales (which i think is 300 or 350 and i think a regular home scales are usually not to reliable over a certain amount).  Anyhow it is a Weigh****chers scale (made by conair), I got it for 50 dollars on sale, when I saw it weighed to 380  I had to have it.
