Is it a good sign?
Ok. I'm about to lose it!!! I still haven't heard from my insurance company. Dr. Baker's office scheduled me for the 9th and it's been 3 weeks since they mailed in my pre-determination. The insurance co hadn't received it last Tuesday, so they faxed it in to them. They said they would call with the results, but they haven't yet. I call UHC at least 3 times a day. Yesterday, they said that my paperwork was in the last stage--the Medical Reviewer (or something like that). Does this sound like they might approve me? I'm so desperate for them to say yes...I've been denied by all of my other insurance companies in the past. Any comments are welcome...as I'm about to drive myself crazy worrying.

I say keep calling your insurance company on a regular basis until you get a definite YES or NO.
Is your appt on the 9th to meet Dr. Baker for your pre-op consult?

It sounds like you are like me. I called about that often to make sure they kept ME a priority and I didn't get lost in the shuffle of what is undoubtedly a very big pile.
My advice would be to do something to get your mind on something else (but still keep up the phone calls if you can get through to a human being). As soon as they approve you (and I think they will by the sound of it), I'd ask them to fax it to you immediately. (Have them fax it to Dr. Baker's office too, but have them fax it to you also. Dr. Baker's office, God bless and love them all, don't do too well with receiving faxed information based on what I know from my own fax history with them. I have learned to just ask for whatever is being faxed to them to be faxed to me also and bring a paper copy of it in with me.)
Well, I just found out from Christy at Dr. Baker's office that there's no way they can do my surgery on the 9th. She's been on vacation and just got back, so she didn't know what Becky did while she was gone. Becky scheduled me for the 9th and didn't schedule me a consult appt with Dr. Baker. So l called to schedule an appt and she said they can't fit me in until the 10th! I asked her if I could go and sit there all day and see if someone cancelled an appt. She said no. She wants to schedule me for a consult on the 10th and surgery on the 30th. MY INSURANCE RUNS OUT ON THE 30TH!!!! Finally she said that she'd try to talk Dr Baker into scheduling another appt this Thursday, so that I could have surgery on the 9th. If you're reading this, will you all agree with me in prayer that he'll say yes and I'll be able to have surgery on the 9th? Thanks everyone. I appreciate all of the support and advice!
